Do you wear chainmail surfing? Well, depending on your spot, it may provide an advantage against sharkies, but you probably won't fair well on the board. If you're looking for a wetsuit with a stretchy feel, plenty of warmth, and an eazy-in and easy-out design, then check out the Xcel Hawaii Men's 4/3 Infiniti Full Zip Wetsuit.
ThermoBamboo lining incorporates charcoal to help retain your body heat so you can stay out in the warmth-sapping water longer
Fusion Seals at the wrists and ankles utilize UltraStretch waterproof composite to cover the blind stitch on the inside and UltraStretch UV-resistant glue to seal the outside
UltraStretch Fusion seams that line the upper body are stitchless on the outside to allow maximum mobility as you paddle
UltraStretch Pressure-bonded tape seams seal the lower body and legs
Pre-bent sleeves position your arms for maximum mobility
Bottom Line:
Definitely not for medieval battle, but pretty awesome for battling frigid water.
Can you go below the suggested water temperature for this suit without getting super cold? I surf DE/OC which water temps can get down to 38 in Feb/March. Thanks man!
I'm kind of a "skinny tall" dude. How does this thing fit? Should I go Medium or Large? 6'2, 160 lbs, 32' waist. I would go MT if it were available, but it's not. Any advice?

Surf suits wouldn't be good for diving (scuba or apnea) because surf suits are not designed to withstand the compression that occurs at depths. You could get by with diving it for a little while but it wouldn't nearly have the longevity that a "dive suit" has. After a while your 4/3 would be compressed, thus robbing you of your warmth
That is going to depend on where you are diving and the water temps. This wet suit is for water temps of 49 - 54 F, so if you are typically diving in water that temp this could be a good option for you.
The value of this suit is unbelievable. Xcell makes great suits and this suit seriously lets no water in at all. And it's so warm. I dont love the velcro sticking to the inside of the back panel but other than that it's perfect. And not to mention DogFunk quick shipping and return policy. There's not a better wetsuit option online to be found, I'm one happy customer.
I used it the past winter in SoCal and 3/2 was good enough (when brand new!) the thing is if you surf 3-4 times a week or more.. like most of the strech wetsuits I guess, it will last around 6months before some holes start appearing at certain undertensions spots. overall it's a good product if you get it on sale
I'm 6'3" 215 with long arms. The XL infitiy dry lock was too small so I got this in XXL and in 51 degree water this thing was toasty. I had no problems with water coming down my back, flushing, any of that stuff. If anything I was too hot. A nice change from my LT body glove matrix with all the holes. The deal on this thing is too good to pass up anyways.....
This wetsuit has a full OS zip and is THE top of the line zip suit by xcel. Minimizes water flush byplacing another layer of neoprene between you and zipper to insure you are still covered and the zipper doesnt affect your ability to hold warmed water to keep your core temp solid. THIS thing is bulletproof and is basically the drylock but a rear zip. Dont doubt any quality, this thing stretches beyond any imaginable standard entry suit. Crazy tech, killer stretch and quality and does what a wetsuit is supposed to...and dont look for a differnent suit for the price here at DOGFUNK! You will NOT find it!!!
I'm actually a little disappointed with the suit. it has the flexibility and the warmth except for when I go under and it flushes. Without a collar reaching from the back over the head, you get flushed when duck-diving etc.. not what I was hoping for.
Herad about you from locals, went on line great price for this EXCEL 4/3 I had a dry lock this is a back zip I will let you know how I like it . Look foreward to getting it the water temp at this point is 51!!! hurry up and get here
We thought this one was the front zip entry, but it isn't-anyway it worked out and this suit is excellent. Worth every penny. The backzip is different than most backzip entries, the zipper is much shorter and way more comfortable, will buy again. Thanks.

This suit is the best 4/3 on the market. I have owned two Infinity front zip and just got the back zip and it is just as good. Very stretchy and very warm even in 54 degree water. Just know, this suit will only last 1 year if you pee in it and surf more than 2 times a week like I do. Other than that it is awesome.

I have bought tons of suits throughout the years and normally just bought entry stuff because I was a strong guy who went balls out and didnt care...until Excel started earning my loyalty. NOW, I have only bought Excel and the panels and superstretch make a HUGE difference for me after monster shoulder damage from 20 military years, pro football, surfing, snowboarding and the usual X life. My next suit will be a drylock or xzip because my shoulders just cant do the zip much longer, BUT, I wouldnt buy a different rear zip suit due to placement and ease. Being retired, I couldnt afford the higher priced versions of the infinity or the drylock, but, I wont have a choice and will happily pay Dogfunk for what they offer in their stock because they FLAT OUT ROCK! Thanks Excel, Dogfunk and Dakine, you have kept me going in even COLD ASS MICHIGAN and when I travel to my favorite spots in Ventura, Cocoa Beach and Baja Malibu!!! Only reason not 5 stars is just the transition before you get over deltoids is a bit tight but it has to be and I only have a small entry issue at 6'4" 228 on the XXL. Just a big guy from shoulder to shoulder.
