Diamante Pro - Solid

I'm 6'4' 220 lbs and have no complaints on these tires. I don't get the miles that some other riders have reported, but they roll smooth, are very stable, and (for me) take a good amount of road debris (gravel, branches, etc...) without flats. I've had two flats over two sets of tires (about 1200 mi per set, 700x23), one was a bolt that would have flatted anything and the other was a thorn that maybe would have been stopped by a heavier tire.

Diamonte Pro very duarable for me

I see some people have complained about durability. Perhaps they got tires with a defect. I am a heavy club rider (230lbs) and I have 2400 miles on a set of 700X25's with only one flat. (glass) I think the rear still has another 500 or so miles in it but I am ordering a new set since they are on sale. They roll smooth and corner great.

Diamante Pro

I purchased these tires for a custom wheel set. I have hundreds of miles on them and haven't had anything except smooth low-resistance rides. They corner very well. They handle wet like it wasn't and they feel very smooth on the longest of rides. I see others had issues, but I have pounded potholes, swerved into and up curbs and run over water bottles with no problem. Perhaps there are profile issues between rim width and tire width, who knows. These are soft and I expect about 1000-1200 miles will be when I replace them. My experience has been all good.

Not as durable and I hoped.

I use to run on the Diamante Pro Lights but they too wore out too fast. I went to the Diamante Pro because of its claims of durability (within its class).

Like the first reviewer said, I didn't expect these lightweight tires to be tough as nails but I also didn't expect to see the tire form a bulge after 2 rides (about 60 miles total). I liked the feel of these tires and it they were more durable, I'd be a loyal fan.

I think I'll need to look elsewhere.

I bought 4 tires - for my wife's bike and mine, before a 400 mile club tour. After we got home and put on a few more miles, 2 of the tires developed bulges. These are obvious defects. So, 50% of the tires are bad. I don't think I'll buy Vittoria Diamante Pros any more.

Durability Issues

Yes I do understand these are a light-weight tire and are not intended to be bomb-proof, but I have replaced 3 of these over the summer and am no longer running Vittoria. The first formed a severe bulge in the tread (obviously a manufacturing defect); A small thorn puncture caused a large gash in the sidewall on my second; And the third was retired after the bead warped during a tube changing. I will say when these were in working order they did run very well, but due to my string of bad experiences I am now much happier on Continentals.

Great Race Tire

By:

These make for a very nice, inexpensive race tire. They corner very well and never feel like they're going to roll. They do wear fast, as do all race tires.
