The Uvex Supersonic Mountain Bike Helmet features huge vents to keep the air flowing and full coverage down the back of the head. The supersonic is light enough for racing and tough enough for freeride. Uvex's IAS 2 Fit system allows full adjustment with one hand and the front scoops feature mesh guards to keep bees and other critters from getting lodged inside.

It's light, well vented and has everything going for it as far as a bike helmet. It has 3 BIG PROS: 1) MADE IN GERMANY...NOT CHINA...who would you trust your head to? enough said, 2) IAS system tightens the helmet around the entire circumference of your head (like a hard hat) rather than tightening the back to squash your head between the forehead and the back of the helmet (when comfortably tightened you can shake your head upside down without the strap on and it won't come off, won't give you a headache, light-years ahead of every other system I have used) and 3) the single buckle chinstrap is marvelous, it has about 1.5" of adjustability to to get it the right tension for the moment, it's off-center, will never pinch your skin and can be operated with one hand. For cons, it's not the prettiest, either in shape or patterns, but compared to the comfort, who cares!! Also the bug nets seem a little overkill and make it more difficult to scratch your head, but again compared to the comfort, who cares!!
