The legendary Timbuk2 Laptop Messenger bag, based on the design of the Classic Messenger, features a built-in padded computer compartment to protect your precious laptop from the perils of your daily commute. The huge, waterproof, vinyl-lined interior is spacious enough to stow your daily flotsam. Unlike the Classic, the Laptop Messenger also comes standard with the convenient Grab Strap carry handle for speedy grab-and-go departures.
Bottom Line:
The ever-hip messenger bag just got a digital-payload upgrade...laptop style.
If you've ever needed to lug around your notebook and wanted to be certain it was safe, this is the bag to get. I've tried numerous messenger bags from other mfrs., but this is the best, bar none.
This is a slick bag, the laptop compartment is padded, and my MacBook Pro fits like a dream. I have the Large size...the XL is WAAAY too big! It's durable, waterproof, has lots of organizer pockets, looks great (colors are awesome!), and is very stylish. All in all, nice bag.

Is the Courier Strap one that will slip over the head and across the body? If it is, hold one of the plum bags and I'll order as soon as you respond! Thanks,Mary Wells
I've been a Timbuk2 fan for years. This bag replaces the basic large messenger bag, which is huge. The space is cut down a bit on this bag because of the dedicated computer pouch, but it also is more stable and easier to sling on your shoulder because the load is evenly situated in the bag. Without the pouch books and computers have a tendency to "lay down" in the bag (not sit perpendicular). This often leads to shoulder straps digging uncomfortably into your neck and shoulder. This bag (the Laptop Messenger) is a vast improvement in this respect. The style and bombproof construction go without saying. I love this bag!
I bought this messenger bag because I bike everywhere in NYC, and I just purchased a laptop. I was using an old messenger bag from about 5 years ago, and the upgrade was overdue. This bag is so easy to use, comfortable, quickly releases, and it is much bigger than it looks! My only complaint was that I originally purchased this on amazon, and the information about which size bag would fit which laptop was incorrect. The laptop size wasn't labeled on amazon, and I had to re-order. Once I called this site, the sales people were more than helpful, and got me the correct bag in lickety-split time!
This bag has great style and all the functionability you need weather your on your way to work or peddling across town to hang out with some friends you can put it all in this bag. The laptop sleeve keeps your computer safe and sound while traveling and the pocket selection is great.
Riding a bike requires balance, right. So why would you want your bag all tossed off to one side? You wouldnt. This aint no 'man purse', this is a quality piece of gear. The cross strap balances the bag well for riding.
I really like the bag...it is nice a waterproof. It keeps my laptop nice and safe. My one complaint would be that the strap doesnt have any padding. But that can be fixed by buying the strap pad.
I purchased the TIMBUK2 laptop messenger. It fits and supports my XPS laptop perfectly. The padding and extra space makes it a plus. Its a little pricey, but worth it since no other laptop bags are even comparable.
Strap is surprisingly comfortable, bag is roomy, keeps out rain, and the laptop compartment is great. Only thing that could make this better is some form of hard insert behind the laptop compartment to distribute pressure on your precious computer (I just put my old carry case inside the compartment for extra protection).
I've been using this bag for a month & it's great. It has more pockets than I could ever use! It could use a should strap pad & I don't much like the Velcro on the inside of the bag, underneath the main flap. Other than that, I wouldn't change a thing.
