The North Face Warm Capri Bottom - Men's - 2010

The North Face Warm Capri Bottom - Men's - 2010 BCS

Item # TNF5843

Give your hiking pants a boost of warmth when you layer with the The North Face Warm Capri Bottom. The double-layer insulating fabric keeps your legs warm as you break trail over frozen mud. As you warm up, the HyActive fabric\222s hollow core fibers breathe, wick sweat, resist odors, and dry quickly if you slip crossing a crystal-clear stream. The Warm Capri\222s design fits with tall wool socks without doubling up insulation that leads to sweat soaked ankles. An integrated fly gives you easy access when nature calls, and flat-locked seams provide chafe-free hiking when worn under a tough hiking pant.

Bottom Line:

When one layer isn\222t enough, insulate with the double-layer Warm Capri Bottom.

These are great insulation from the cold and will not let you sweat if worn under hyvent winter breathing gear. I use them for snow plowing underneath my TNF Freedom pants and I am out there for hours in the Michigan cold. I am just under 6 feet tall and they fit me well.

Meh...

I liked the shortness of these b/c I'm 6'4 and they don't go past my knees therefore I'm not really wearing capri's. But, the crotch/butt area is weird on these. Even though the waist felt fine I don't think there's enough crotch to waist material. I would pull them to my waist and w/in minutes they are pulling themselves down below my pants and exposing my gluteal fissure. They're definitely lightweight, I think BC put them in the wrong category. I'll probably go back to the full length which seem to fit fine.

Too short, too light

I normally wear regular Helly Hansen LIFA 3/4 pants but I wanted something thicker to wear under shell pants for cold days. In a Medium, these fit pretty loose (I am 5ft 9in, 170lbs and usually wear a Medium) and the legs are too short to create a good fit with ski socks. The fabric is as light as my LIFA pants, and despite being 'double layer' doesn't feel warm enough. I can't recommend these as heavyweight long underwear.
