Shorts were a little too long for my tastes. Also I was looking for something a little thicker and more along the lines of a casual hang out type short.

Good shorts but too big in the waist

These are great shorts. They dry quickly and are as described on the website. The only problem is the sizing. I would order a size down than what you think. I ordered three different North Face shorts and this pair seemed one inch bigger than the rest of them in the waist. Also, they will not shrink in the wash because of the fabric (which is good and bad if they are too big like mine are). I hope I can return them for a different size!

These shorts are light, and the material is so much better than linen, they feel cool in this Utah summer heat. They are good for hiking, but also to wear around doing yard work and stuff around the house. I definitely recommend it.
