The North Face Resolve Jacket - Girls' - 2008 BCS

Item # TNF0087

Your girl is determined to play outside, and you're resolute that she not get soaked to the bone. Give her The North Face Girls' Resolve Jacket, and you both win. The North Face made this rain jacket from its waterproof breathable HyVent fabric and lined it with wicking mesh, so she can work up a sweat and not get clammy. The Resolve's hood stashes in the collar when the sun peeks out, and zippered pockets hold snails and worms. Or her lip gloss and house key.

Bottom Line:

The Resolve: A tech raincoat for girls who won't come in out of the storm.

I'm 5'6", about 105lbs, about 27" is my sleeve length, a small bust size, not very wide hips. I want to get this jacket in a girls size, should I get a large or extra large? I'm mostly concerned about the sleeves fitting.

I'm about your size, but I am 5'5 and I have both a large and an x-large girls in dif. jackets. The large's sleeves are a little short, but it fits perfectly other than that. The x-large is a little big on me. I also have a women's small jacket and it's kinda too big. So, I hope that helps :)

my daughter wanted a raincoat that would keep her dry but not feel sticky when she wore it.
North Face's Resolve Jacket was the perfect solution.
waterproof for sure, but breathable, and true sizing -
we got hers one size larger so she could grow into it, but exactly the sizing we expected. only slight annoyance is no drawstring for the hood to hold it in place

north face jackets run small! i just received the osolita and this rain jacket in the mail and both are too small. the size small is definitely not a 7-8, more like a size 6. have to return both for bigger sizes. you will want to go up a size if you want any grow room.

So I bought the women's xs resolve jacket before I got this jacket. I'm 5'2 and about 120lb and usually wear women's size 0 or 2. Women's xs was bigger on me and my shoulder didn't fit well and those sleeves were longer on me(I have narrow shoulders and short arms). I got a girl's size L jacket and fit so perfectly! And I like this hat better than the women's one too.

North Face Resolve Jacket - Girls

By:
July 11, 2008

This jacket is excellent in windy and rainy weather and makes a great outer layer on chillier days. It also has a very comfortable fit and looks good. I know because my whole family wore that jacket on our recent trip to Alaska. I know that we will get much use out of the jackets here too. The Resolve rain pants were also excellent.

I got TNF Resolve Jacket in a Girls XL and it fits great but when it rains and I have to wear the hood, it falls down over my eyes which irritates me to no end! It's kind of difficult to get 2 kids in the car when you can't see anything. I am 5'0" 109 lbs. Should I exchange it for a girls size L? Would that help any or would the hood still cover my eyes? Other than that, this is a perfect rain jacket. Especially when I have to drop the kids off at school and have to get out of the car.

I would not get the size L if the XL fits perfect. My 12 yr old daughter had the L and it was too small, so I bought her the XL and there was quite a difference in size. The XL fits her good with a little bit of room. She is 5' 2" and around 90 lbs.

Best rain jacket ever!

By:
February 24, 2010

Love this jacket it's great for rain/wind/snow. I received it right before weeks of snow falls and it worked great as a snow jacket. Although I do usually have to wear a sweatshirt underneath to give it more warmth, it will be great in the spring when it gets warmer to wear by itself. I'm about 5'3" 120 lbs and the girls XL fits perfectly! It's actually great length unlike most youth sizes that are usually short and wide. I would definitely recommend for waterproof jacket needs.

100% dry

By:
February 24, 2010

The North Face Resolve jacket is the only rain jacket I have ever been able to get my 10 year old boy to wear,he loves it. So I had to by one for his 5 year old sister. Now they ask if it is going to rain so they can wear their jackets. In Southeast Georgia we get some good heavy rainfalls, and this jacket keeps them 100% dry. You can also layer a light fleece under it to keep them warmer when it is cold. We actually got snow a week ago and they wore this jacket in the snow to make snow angels and it kept them dry. A must for the spring and all year round.

A size 12 compliments either a Medium or a Large. It depends on how you want the jacket to fit. For a more snug fit a Medium is good, for a looser and longer fit the Large would be good.

Her friends are asking where she got it because they want one too. Light enough to wear in the south (Georgia) and can wear over a hoodie when it's raining or cold out.

June 12, 2009

I bought this jacket for an upcoming trip to Seattle, but I have had plenty of rainy weather to test it out so far! I recently took it to New York City, and it was so handy because it rained the entire trip! The fit is excellent and is not bulky. I ordered the extra large girls' size instead of the adult extra small. I am 5'4" and weigh about 115 pounds. I would recommend this jacket to travelers and, because I am a teacher, teachers who have recess/outside duty like me!
