No the Pumori jacket is not waterproof. It is an insulation piece. An example of a waterproof jacket would be the The North Face Venture.

Living in Texas I dont often need more than the Pumori. If the wind picks up or I am traveling to colder climates its ability to zip into a shell makes this a great value. Well done TNF.

Just got my new, and second, Pumori jacket today. I really like these jackets: handsome, well-made and very comfortable. I purchased this one in the Fig color and it is quite good looking. I also bought the Windwall jacket in this color and it is a bit more of a medium olive - still a nice color. This Pumori in Fig is quite a bit darker and is one of the most handsome colors I own in any type of jacket. Highly recommended.

The Pumori fleece will not zip in to the Pumori soft shell. It will zip in to other North Face shells:
Banshee TriClimate™ Jacket
Mt. Guide Jacket
Mt. Light Parka
Mt. Light Jacket
Recon jacket
Trinity Triclimate
Voretex Triclimate

The Pumori is 200 weight fleece, which will not be as warm as the 300 weight Denali fleece.

Pumori's a great fleece

I use the Pumori jacket for mild to cool weather conditions (mid 30's to mid 40's). It's a comfortable jacket that has alot of versatility. Once the cold winds pick up or the rain/sleet/ snows come I zip it into one of my NF technical shells and continue to use it.

I liked the Pumori so much that I purchased it in black, blue and grey.

Helpful Tip: Zip-in Compatible

For those looking for a TNF fleece jacket that is zip-in compatible as a liner with TNF jackets, this Pumori is. (The Backcountry product description fails to include this information.) I have had one in black and one in green for about 3 years and am very happy with both and use almost exclusively as liners for my TNF ski jackets on very cold days. It's not wind or water proof so better to use this jacket by itself on less cold and less windy days around town.

Solid but...

Nice fleece, warm & solid construction - a better TNF product. Fit is a bit odd but TNF is very inconsistent (somewhat loose, questionable sleeve length, akwardly hangs outside my TNF Apex Bionic... ). I wear this typically as an outer layer - stand alone or with layering underneath. I like the cuffs, solid zippers and lined pockets. Beware the color Asphalt Grey is a bit misleading.
