The North Face Nuptse Down Jacket - Girls' - 2005

The North Face Nuptse Down Jacket - Girls' - 2005 BCS

Item # TNF0539

The North Face Girl's Nuptse Jacket is the most versatile down jacket in TNF's girl's line. It can be worn alone in cold, dry conditions or under a weatherproof shell for complete snow and rain protection. She'll love the Nuptse's shape and cool color options. 600-fill goose down(the same stuff they use in cold weather sleeping bags) keeps her toasty warm, and reinforced stitching will withstand the abuses of recess and childhood. *SLEEVES CUT SHORT TO FIT YOUTHS.

Bottom Line:

Nothing keeps the kids warm like down!

Awesome Nuptse Jacket!

By:
January 11, 2007

I love my new jacket. I walked all around Manhattan checking out the city and stayed totally warm. My jacket made its debut on the TODAY show Sunday edition when I stood in the crowd. My mom was freezing! She wants to get one for herself. I'm so glad it is cold again so that I can stay toasty! Can't wait for my ski trip.

Great jacket! I bought this for my 5th grader who is tall for her age. The jacket fit true to size, is light, but is quite warm. She wore it to the Frozen Fenway ice rink series in Boston on two very cold days and was very comfortable. I would highly recommend this coat.

Hi - The Nuptse jacket wouldn't be my first choice, because as you mentioned it isn't waterproof. If you go back to the site and look under "ski jackets" you will find a good assortment of waterproof insulated jackets.
Hope this helps-

Both of my girls have this jacket and both LOVE it! We live in the Northeast and have had a pretty brutal winter thus far, but the North Face Nuptse jacket has kept them totally warm and cozy.

Ordering from Backcountry was great as well! Free shipping and delivery in no time at all.

Black Coat Success Delivery

Great transacation with Backcountry. On time and our kid loves the coat. It was in perfect condition upon delivery, and the product (a North Face product) appears to have all of the seams and zipper matching its top quality seen on many of the other products purchased.

We will consider buying again from this website.

Thanks to Backcountry for making this transaction simplie and easy for us.

Great coat

By:
February 2, 2009

Finally broke down and bought myself and my kids "trendy" coats: they were interested in the brand name, but I was looking for warm coats that would actually be worn to school (needed that cool factor) and could be squashed into very tiny lockers. These were perfect for both!! I got mine on the recommendation of a fellow "playground duty" teacher who has managed to stay warm during our 20 degree 30 minutes sessions. I am finally warm, too. I am fortunate enough to fit into a girls size, and don't know if there is a huge difference between the 700 down of the womens and the 600 down of the girls coat. I do know that I have been plenty warm, with just a heavy sweater under, when outside. I wish I had broken my pledge to not buy for the "namebrand" before this: I would have been a lot warmer, and so would have my kids.

By:
January 28, 2009

I have to say I bought this in a girls size xl because it was much cheaper. Plus I got it at 40% off! I normally wear a medium in the womens Northface. Today it was negative 8 and I felt nice and warm on top. I think a large would have fit a little better if it weren't for the sleeves being too short, but thats because of it being kid sized. All my kids have these and I feel comfortable knowing they are warm without being weighed down.

Sure is. You'll want to avoid fabric softners and use an extra rinse if your machine will allow it. Then, as always with Down, you'll have to use some sort of balls in the dryer.Hope that helps.

Diamond Blue is not Blue at all!

By:
December 6, 2006

I ordered the diamond blue North Face Nuptse jacket for my daughter based on the color I saw on the web site. I had it gift wrapped. The gift wrapping consisted of nothing more that a dented brown cardboard box with a cheap crushed red string bow stuck on it...very festive. Not sure where the "wrap" was in that gift-wrap price tag. Anyway, it ended up being a blessing because I had no problems opening the box to take a peek at the color. I was shocked. It was NOTHING like the color on the web site. Instead of a cool "deep end of the swimming pool" blue it was a muted, grayish seafoamy greenish blue. Thank heavens the gift wrap was so lousy that I opened the box! No more shopping on line for me. You just never know what you are going to get and then there is the hassle of returning it. It's not worth the $ that I would have saved.

my daughter is 14 and petite - about 5 ft 3 inches tall, 105 lbs.My guess is she is a 32 or 33 chest and 26 inch waist and narrow hips....likely 32 or 31.In the kids nuptse down jacket.... should she be a large or extra large. She doesn't like looking too big; however, she wants the jacket to come down a few inches past the waist to keep her warmth in.

it's about being cool

By:
January 17, 2005

The Nuptse girls' jacket is identical to the women's version, but $100 less (at least) so I got it for my 13-year old, who is determined to have what's trendy at her middle school--and North Face IS the look right now. This jacket has much less down than cheaper jackets from EMS or Columbia, it's made of lighter-weight fabric, and it's not terribly warm. (There's almost no down in the sleeves.) So I only recommend this jacket if it's necessary for the "cool" factor...

Great Jacket!!

By:
December 20, 2004

The North Face nuptse jacket is the most popular jacket worn in our area of the Northeast. It most definitely keeps the children warm!! Buying this jacket online at backcountry.com was so convenient, fast, and reliable. I couldn't find the jacket in any nearby stores in the right color and size. I highly recommend buying it at backcountry.com.

white nuptse coat-North Face

By:
January 11, 2007

My daughter loves the coat. She thinks it's warm. We haven't had really cold weather yet, so I'm waiting to see. I would have preferred a smaller size for her-hope the air doesn't draft through it. The size seems like it ran bigger than what I've been used to.

Form, function and fashion

January 4, 2007

What an excellent coat for a fashion conscious 4-year-old. Yes, she had to have a coat just like her big sisters so we indulged her. I was happy to oblige because I know this coat wears well, looks great and will make an excellent pass along to my friend who's 1-year-old will also get lots of use out of this great product. Well worth the investment.
