money well spent

Very comfortable and works well in a wide range of temperatures. Perfect when the fleece pullover isn't quite enough.
I live in Memphis,Tn. In the winter it will get in the 20s and 30s and occasionally get in the teens. Will this jacket keep me warm when I go walking for 30 minutes with my dog and to go run errands.Could I wear a shirt underneath and be ok or would I need a heavier coat.I hate to be cold.

It is really hard to say as everyone is different. But here in Utah our temperatures are similar to that and I am fine in something like this and a t-shirt underneath for quick errands and dog walks.

A Bit Small
June 1, 2011
The sizing of this fleece is decribed as 'regular' so I ordered a large, which is what I wear for most of my clothing. It turns out it was a bit tight. I'm around 6'1 and 200 lbs. This jacket was tight in the chest however the sleeve length was spot on. I also noticed limited flexibility in the shoulders due to the non-stretch wear panels. It's a well-made peice of clothing... it just didn't fit properly so I exchanged it for something else. I gave it 3 stars because I found the experience to be a little frustrating. TNF's sizing seems to be all over the place lately. I have a pumori jacket in a med. that fits me perfectly and a mountain guide jacket in a large that is roomy.
Son got lucky, husband not so much

I bought an XL for my husband (his usual size)but it was tight across the shoulders. I also bought an XXL for my son who is 6'5" and 260. He loved it and it fit great, the long sleeves and slightly longer length were beneficial for a tall person. He spent two days in the windy 30's and was very comfortable. My husband tried on the XXL but it swam on him. We'll try a different style for him.
Awesome between seasons jacket.

Bought this a few weeks ago, and it has held up well to Minnesota's varying late winter temps. It kept me warm in temps hovering around 0, but is breathable enough to leave on during quick meetings with clients. The XL I bought does fit a bit tight in the shoulders and back, but the material is forgiving enough that it isn't noticable after a few minutes.
Love it even more in person.

Super soft, looks GREAT! I was nervous how it would look since it's not standard fleece, but it is super cute on my hubby, great quality and different from the usual northface fleeces with the fun accent zippers. Only thing is my husband is 6' and the sleeves seem a little short on the medium so be sure to measure. We are exchanging it for a L.

The Dualie fabric is really nice - but the downfall is kind of a funny fit. I'm in general a very Medium kinda TNF guy. My Pumori fleece seems very large as a Medium, and the Dualie in Medium is pretty slim fitting. The Large fits a bit less tight, but the sleeves are bizarrely long. In the end I'm happy with the Medium, but you have to think of it more as a sweater kind of fit, rather than jacket. It'll be a nice slim layer under my shell for the mountain, and a decent everyday fleece as long as you aren't wearing a bulky shirt.

I was so happy to find this fleece as my son wanted it for Christmas and I could not find it anywhere, I found it on backcountry.com and was so pleased and got the order with no problem. BUT, if buying this fleece, know it runs small so go the next size up to save yourself the headache of a return. My son wears a large in his many noth face items and there was no way that the Large would work for this one!!!
