I got the boys XL for my girlfriend who is 5'2 and 120..i messed up earlier when i said she was 5'4...nope...she's 5'2.
so she's 5'2 and 120lbs. she wears size small in everything usually...
I initially ordered the boys XL for her thinking i could save a few bux to put toward other christmas presents. when it came in thee mail, it was just wayyyy to big...
so, backcountry being great, split the cost of 2nd day delivery for me and immediately rushed me out a girls L.
that fit PERFECTLY. my girlfriend absoltuely loves it.
so i had a problem monday night, and backcountry fixed it by wednesday afternoon. im in PA, they're in UTAH. awesome.
so now i'm stuck with this boys XL which backcountry immediately created a shipping ticket for and emailed to me to ship back for free.
im actually keeping both jackets now.
my buddy jason, who sucks because he's a little guy and can fit into kids' sizes actually loved the boys XL... so instead of paying $131 for it here on backcountry for a men's size...he just ended up taking the boys size....
now backcountry, dont get mad at me cuz i sold him the boys size instead of him buying the mens size.
im gonna buy yet another denali jacket from you guys, and i have no choice but to buy mens cuz im 6ft tall and 220lbs...yeah what can i say. im awesome.
anyways...girls L will fit a woman who is 5'2 120lbs perfectly.
boys XL will fit a guy 5'5 and 120lbs....
so if you know a guy like my buddy jason who is 5'5 and 120lbs...get him the boys XL...and maybe a sandwich too.

This fleece is the warmest jacket I have ever owned! I bought it for backpacking in the mountains of Colorado, but it can also be worn as a winter coat around campus of my university. It even protects against snow, as it is water resistant. The areas of high wear are reinforced, and I can already tell that it will last a long time. The people who work at this company are friendly, fast, and answered all of my questions. Overall, I am highly satisfied with my purchase!

We are huge fans of North Face for the kids. This Denali jacket could be a winter coat, it's that warm. The color is bright and cheerful for the cloudy fall / winter days. Worth every cent. I love it!!!
These jackets are great!!!! I have purchased 4 jackets. My son has a blue one I brought last Christmas and it has held up so good that I got him another one this Christmas(2007), because he wanted a black one. My daughter who is a junior in college has one and she loves her. I too have one and it's wonderful for all types of weather. Trust me when I say these are great jackets and worth your money. No matter have many times you wash them, they look like new when they come out of the dryer.

I was ordering a North Face jacket for my daughter for Christmas and decided to get my son this particular jacket. The process was great and my son was very excited to receive the jacket. The North Face makes excellent gear and we are very pleased with this jacket for him. He doesn't normally like to wear coats but this is just the right weight. This jacket provides the warmth of a thick coat without having the bulkiness of a thick coat.
Most waterproof/breathable shells will work well over this, or any, fleece jacket for providing protection from cold and wet conditions. A fleece jacket under a shell offers insulation from the wet and cold through the layer between you and the elements (including right next to the shell...hence the importance of having a layer or two (fleece and wool long underwear is a good combination).
I bought this jacket for my 6 yr old recently, and he really likes it, I shopped around before I purchased The North Face and now Im glad I did. The prices here are just to good to pass up. I purchased 3 jackets and will buy form this store again.
excellent jacket. this is TNF, so you cannot go wrong style-wise. excellent basic fleece, warm and cozy. wearable as a spring top layer. not very windproof, but that's expected. the durability matches the price- you will grow out of it before you wear it out. good all-round jacket

I have three kids, ages 14, 11, and 6. All three of my kids have been wearing North Face Denali Jackets since they were big enough to fit into one. These jackets are extremely durable and exceptionally warm. My oldest two kids wear the same size, even though one is a girl and one is a boy, I buy mostly gender neutral colors and these jackets last for years even with two kids wearing them daily! My six year old son still has his very first one and although the sleeves are finally a little short, the jacket still looks brand new after three years! My husband thought it was crazy to pay so much for a jacket when I first started buying these jackets for our kids and now after several years, he refused to buy anything else!

I bought this jacket in small for my son. The TNF size indicates small = 51" to 53"; my son is only 50" tall and the sleeves were way short + they aren't baggy as the adult TNF Delani jackets. Often the TNF Delani jackets are bigger than the typical TNF jackets. I will have to return this jacket. My son was disappointed because he loves this anemone green. Too bad there is no medium size offer for this color to exchange at this web site. :(

I got this for my 12 year old son -- who likes to wear as little as possible no matter the temp. outside. He loves it b/c it is light but warm--and not bulky as winter jackets go. He uses it as his main winter jacket. When it is truly cold outside, he uses it as a main layering piece. I bought him an M -- and it is perfect for him this winter. I have a feeling I'll have to get him an L next year.
Every boy in Atlanta has this jacket. Perfect winter jacket for our climate. I ordered on December 20th, and had it in time for Christmas. Great service. I wish I had not gotten black-we have a white dog, and the fleece attracts every dog hair!

Does anyone know the sleeve length of a Boy's XL?I currently own a Boy's Large and find the sleeves too short!I am only 5'2 120lbs and the end of the sleeves hit about an 1" above my wrist. I took my own jacket and measured from the center of the back to the end of the sleeve and its roughly 27".I am trying to decide between a Boy's XL or a Women's Small (which lists a sleeve length of 32") and getting a Boy's would save me some money!
I am 5'6" 130lbs and I fit into a boys XL, the fit is different from the womens though. The womens Denali is tapered through the waist for a more feminine look. Where a boys is just boxy. But a boys XL fits me bigger than my Small womens.

Most likely a XL or L. Good chose, since they are cheaper also! Another jacket you should look at it is the Mountain Hardwear Monkey Woman which is super soft and the XS fits me, and I'm only 4'8! The Monkey Woman is really fuzzy and warm, but a bit higher quality, and costs more...
I'm a short 18 year old guy and this jacket fits perfect in XL! I'm about 5'4" and 125 lbs. I actually thought this jacket was going to be thicker. It's more of a light jacket. I wore it class one morning when it was 60 degrees and thought I would be sweating, but I wasn't. So I guess thats my only complaint because I wanted this for the winter. Otherwise it fits well! If your a short small guy get an XL and save some money!
What a great price for a North Face fleece! It's thick and soft - far superior to other fleece jackets my kids have had. Sizes do run slim but that's great for my kids - they still have wiggle room.

They haven't had a style change but sizing can vary just a bit on different production runs. As far as the tabs the best thing is to contact TNF and see if they can hook you up with them.Hope that helps.
I bought this for my just turned 13-year old. I got a Youth XL so he could wear it for a bit and it fits him fine now with a little size to go. He LOVES this jacket. First of all, he loves looking like the 'big' kids. Secondly, it is very warm yet lightweight. We just traveled to Italy and it was the perfect coat to take...very warm but not bulky. The price through Back Country was the best I have seen anywhere, hands down.

I'm almost 5'7 and 115 lbs- I fit into an XL Kids, and it fits a lot looser than a Woman's small. Kids Large would fit me better if the arm length was longer- that's why I need the XL, for the arm length- and I just tighten the cord so it isn't so baggy. XL should fit you fine.

What can you say about a jacket? It serves its purpose (keeping you warm). The North Face Jacket is a very comfortable and durable wear either on the side of a mountain or hanging out in the back yard. I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys the outdoors.
Wow. This jacket has so many great features. One it is very light weight and portable. Me being in middle school with a locker and all that stuff makes it awesome. It's so tiny but it suprisingly can keep me warm. It's totally awesome dude! it's all like cool. This is one jacket where you will not be beat up in school for wearing. Angie, I have twin boys that wear the same size and I ordered them a L in the Khumbu. They didn't have much growing room but they didn't want to return them. I just ordered them an XL in the Denali. It will be here Mon 12/8 so if it is too big I will edit this post and let you know.
I ordered jackets for my daughter, my son and also one for myself. We all love them!!! This is my daughters third The North Face jacket. She already mentioned that she'd like to have another one....maybe next year.
