The North Face Aconcagua Down Jacket - Girls'

Item # TNF6637

She loves to be outside, but she hates the cold. Bundle your sassy little sweetie up in the Girls' Aconcagua Down Jacket from The North Face. Made with 550-fill down, this toasty jacket will keep her comfy even when the air outside is freezing.

  • Toasty 550-fill down keeps the cold out and the warm in whether she's walking to school mid-winter or rocking her first ski lesson
  • DWR finish sheds those light flurries so she wont' feel the wet when the snow comes down
  • Zip-in and snap-in compatibility lets her hook this cozy down jacket into a compatible shell from The North Face for bomber protection from the elements

Bottom Line:

She can be outside all she wants without ever worrying about the cold.

Daughter loves this jacket

By:
January 3, 2013

My daughter wore this jacket skiing in low 30 temps with decent winds. She was not uncomfortable at all. The wind did not cut trough te jacket and she was quite worn. Sizing was perfect ad what we expected. We are very satisfied with this purchase.

You can choose various shipping options at checkout. Right now BC is offering free two-day shipping on orders over 50. Otherwise, it's usually UPS ground.

We ski alot in the winter, I just want to know if anyone thinks this jacket is the one for that purpose? As we know kids fall consistently and wetness seeps in, I don't want to worry about that this year. Please respond.

I wouldn't use this for kids skiing. It will definitely get wet. I suggest using a waterproof hard shell with good layering underneath. Hard shells breathe decently and with a good layering system can be used in a lot of conditions.

Petite Female Bought a Large and Skipped W's section

By:
October 19, 2011

I am 5ft 105lbs chest measures 36. For parents trying to fit girls in the tweens/teens --- I LOVE IT! I'm probably shorter than your girls, but it fit me great, the problem you might find is if your daughter is taller and longer limbed. She might need to go to the women's section because the LRG 14/16 fit like a women's xs petite shorter in the waist and arms and shoulders. Considerable difference however, between LRG and XLRG. I could swim in the XLRG. Hope this helps!

For my 13 year old - who is not big by any stretch of the imagination - the large (13/14 year olds) was about 2 inches short in the arms! She is currently wearing a North Face medium which is longer in the arms than this one. This is cut very strangely.

No, A knitted hat or fleece hat would be toasty with it. Or if you get a shell it might have one attached.

So-so jacket

By:
May 5, 2012

This jacket does not feel like a typical down jacket - the outer fabric is so thick it hardly feels like there's any down inside! It was way too stiff and shiny for my taste! My daughters did like the color options this jacket offered (esp. the light blue). We ended up buying the Carmel jacket instead, which also has the 550 down fill but was a ton warmer and lighter, perfect for our cold Chicago winters!

Bought this jacket for my daughter. No one else had the color in stock, let alone her size. She loved the jacket and it fit true to size.

Great purchase and jacket!

Yes, but like most down you'll probably need a shell over it if it will be worn out in rain or lots of wet snow.

Pink is Pretty

This jacket is beautiful. The outer satin-like fabric makes this pretty enough to wear out, but is great for layering on a cold day skiing. Also great alone on a warmer day. The DWR coating makes this an awesome water-resistant option in a light snowstorm as well.

Great Jacket

By:
December 19, 2011

My Daughter loves it and so far it seems durable and warm. I had to make an exhange as the sizing chart was a bit off and the 6-7 was a bit snug so got the 10-12 and it's fits well.

My daughter is 7.5 and average in size. We tried on the Small (7/8) @ a store locally today and it was plenty big. The sleeves went over her hands. It was almost too big but since it's August and she won't really be wearing it until Nov, I'm glad it's roomy.
