Stoic Thrive Luminous Jacket - Women's

Item # SIC0201

You finally reach the ridge, and pause for a quick drink and to enjoy the view; it's magnificent, but brrr, that breeze blowing from the north is a bit chilly. Pull the Stoic Women's Thrive Luminous Jacket from your hydration pack and put it on for a little protection before you continue your run along the exposed crest trail. This super-light shell feels like nothing on, particularly because it breathes so well; at the same time it blocks the wind that—come to think of it—is continuing to build.

  • DWR treatment on the Spider Light nylon fabric sheds drizzle
  • Internal pocket holds cell phone, tunes, or other small essentials
  • Collar, back, and hem drawcords adjust your fit and keep out drafts
  • Reflective tape along front zipper enhances low-light visibility
  • Lightweight and highly compressible, the jacket packs into its own front pocket for easy transportation

Bottom Line:

Because changeable weather is part of the adventure.

Be wary of tight waist fit

By:
July 28, 2012

I really WANTED to love this lightweight jacket. Sizing is the issue (I ordered 2 different sizes). It is very fitted at the waist (so you girlie girls would be perfect) and those needing long long sleeves. Would be ideal for throwing on before a race then stashing away easily or having on the trail, but fit was off (just at the waist/arms).

I like this jacket, light, windproof, waterproof(didn't have a chance to test it yet). I feels snug, I am medium person and have a medium size. it is very compact, can fit in a purse. Overall good quality product, fair value.

Outside Buyer's Guide - Spring 2012

By: Departmentofgoods.com Employee

Here's what Outside had to say about the Stoic Thrive Luminous Jacket:

"At five ounces, Stoic's super-lightweight, see-through Thrive Luminous jacket has nice touches like hand-warmer pockets and reflective tape along the front zipper. Plus, the ovious: wind protection. The breathable, DWR-coated fabric also sheds water, which made a run through a quick downpour no problem."

Speed Goats team jacket

By:
May 1, 2012

I got this jacket as part of my kit for the Wasatch Speed Goats Mountain Racing Team and I really like it. I got the clear one (that appears white in the above photo) so our logo from the shirt shows through the jacket when worn together. It is very packable, as mentioned by others, down to nearly nothing. It is very wind resistant; but offers very little warmth. I have not tested it in rain for water repellency, but with DWR finish, it should do fine in light showers. The only judgment I have is that it runs a little tight across the shoulders, so reach is impeded if you are doing activities (like biking or climbing) other than running. Overall, a great jacket.

Super functional multi-sport piece

I've worn this jacket a few times already- for runs and biking mostly- I love how packable it is- great for early morning runs when it's still a little damp and chilly out. It is really lightweight and nice when you need a layer to protect from wind or weather. Can't beat the price!

Great minimal jacket

Got this for my wife for her early morning mountain trail runs and so far, so good. It's super lightweight and breathes well when she's heating up, looks great on, and packs away easily. Definitely a minimalist jacket, not too many bells and whistles, which is exactly what she was looking for.
