Perfect fit!

I got this shirt when I saw a deal on Steep and Cheap, but then after wearing it came to DoG to get the other two colors! I love it. I always buy Icebreaker wool but it gets expensive even on sale, and this is just as good as any of the IB stuff I own. I love the blue color and the fabric is nice and light, gets dry quickly and layers well.

It has real sleeves, not the dumb baby doll half sleeves. It's LONG enough for me! I love all the Stoic branded stuff because it fits tall women! I am 5'11'', 130lbs, and athletic (i.e., skinny) and M fits me tightly but not restrictive, which is what you want in a performance shirt. Why size up 2 sizes when it's suppose to fit tight? Wear a t-shirt if you want it to be loose...

Great Workout Shirt

By:
June 6, 2011

I love this shirt - the seaming is great and lays well and the fabric is light and breathable. I got the Helio/Silver - just be aware that the white sidepanels are pretty sheer. I am a 34DD, but the XL only strained minimally across my chest (that's about the best I hope for in athletically cut shirts) and fit pretty well through my broad shoulders. Definitely looks like a workout shirt - it's not going to do double duty as anything but a casual t-shirt because of the sheerness and a little bit of cling - but it was certainly the best I've worn. I wear mine biking and running and haven't encountered any issues. Washes well.

Loved everything but the color

By:
August 13, 2012

I ordered an XL of this shirt in the red (Grenadine?) to use as a hiking and all around activity shirt. I wanted it a little bigger so that it fit more like a regular shirt and not a base layer. I have a similar one in black that is a large and it is a great base layer, but tighter than I am comfortable with for around town. Generally, I am a medium in shirts - but have found that with most of the wool shirts I have to size up one or two times to get something that is a bit looser. The XL was the right size, but the red was see through, so I would have had to wear something under it. It would have been a great base layer, but that wasn't what I was looking for.

The wife likes it

By:

I bought the shirt for my wife. She is petite and the xs small fits her well. It is her first merino shirt and she likes how it feels and the pumice/azure color.

Ladies, as far as merino shirts go, you can't go wrong with this especially for the price. Great quality and great fit. I am 5'8 140lbs and a M fits perfectly; like a normal v-neck t, without being super skin tight. Usually a regular deal breaker for me when i buy shirts is the length because i have a long torso but this shirt is perfect! I wear it on its own or as a base. A L would have done the trick too, just with a little more room.

Nice shirt

By:
June 11, 2012

I bought a few of these shirts, different styles all the purple ones because they were on sale, they are long and the side piece is sheer, and they hug your body but feel good. I hiked in them and fell in love, I am 5'7 135 and prefer the large, it's still body hugging, better as an under shirt if you don't want it showing off every bump and curve on your body. Super soft and wash up nice, dry fast on the line.

Baaaah

Nice shirt, good fit and length. Sleeves are fitted (look, but don't feel tight). This wool shirt does smell like sheep when you sweat. Why have wool for it's odor resistance when it just makes you smell like a different animal? (I do have a sensitive nose, and will be keeping it because the price and fit were right, and the odor isn't that bad).

Bought this for the wifey. She loves the fit and obviously the material. Great for hiking/camping and lounging. She's a buck fifteen and 5'4", we got the small. Not too small, but not big so it does not look awful on her.

versatile and awesome

By:
May 18, 2012

i own this awesome base layer in three different colors because i love it that much. so soft, light, and comfortable. probably one of the most versatile pieces of clothing i own. works great for bike commuting, backpacking, casual wear, travel, you name it! fit is athletic and, like most stoic stuff, runs small compared to marmot and northface. but if you size accordingly (one size up if you want loose, true to size if you want very fitted) you're fine. worth the cost of retail but i've gotten several of them on sale which is an added bonus.

Great for tall people!

By:
May 4, 2012

I am 5' 11' and have a pretty long waist. I love the way it fits. It is long enough that I feel comfortable. I go running and hiking in it. It has a lightweight feel to it and dries quickly. It is a little on the warmer side though. But I like that.

This is a great shirt for running, hiking, and backpacking. I love the fit. The v neck is much more comfortable than other merino wool brands. Doesn't choke! Length is longer and that is a plus too.

Great Merino Shirt

I am 5'3ish and 100 pounds, the size XS fits great! Like other stoic clothing, the shirt is a little on the long side, but I love that! Super lightweight and very comfortable. Drys quickly! I have worn this shirt climbing/hiking, can't wait to wear it out on more adventures!

My wife loves this shirt for running

By:
April 16, 2012

My wife is on the tall side so she loves the longer waste of the stoic. She runs in it and wears it around. Loves it. It's a light merino wool. What is not to like. My wife is about 5'10 150 and loves the fit of the L

Nice fit

By:
August 13, 2011

I love the fit of this shirt. It's not too tight across the chest and stomach, but is still a close fit. I haven't had the same see-through issues in the helio/silver color. I'm always a bit nervous to wash the wool, but I've been able to selectively wash it because it doesn't smell. The fabric is wonderful, any other wool makes my sensitive skin itch, but this is perfect!

great shirt

By:
August 5, 2011

This is a great shirt. Doesn't smell, dries really quick, and looks great. The sleeves come a good way down your arms for some added sun protection too. I am 5'9" 145lbs and the medium fits great, it has a long cut so it doesn't ride up.

Nice product, but color is see through.

By:
August 3, 2011

The shirt is really soft and high quality, but the color is totally see through. It defeats the purpose of a moisture wicking base layer because it has to be worn over a tank. I'm not sure if I can still return it, but I would. Normally I love the stoic brand so this was a bummer.

Worth every penny.

By:
June 29, 2011

I purchased this shirt for indoor climbing, and it's quickly become my favorite all-around shirts for casual wear, as well as for the gym. It was my first piece of merino apparel, and everything they tell you is true: warm when you want it, cool when you don't--always breathable. The Helio color is a lovely, vivid purple, and the garment washes very well. If more solid-color options were offered, I'd be picking up at least one or two more to keep in rotation. Solid buy!

good, but fit is slightly off

By:
June 23, 2011

At first it fit odd, big around the stomach and tight around hips, but washed it according to the directions and it shrank slightly and now it fits better. Purple color looks vibrant. Comfy wool similar to icebreaker

Pretty nice

I love the color helio! I use this as a workout shirt as well as a layering shirt. It is pretty thin but super soft! The large is a little tight on me, I'm 5'6" and 150lbs but otherwise great!
