Great Performance Layer!
June 27, 2012
I snagged this shirt on sale and I am sure glad i did! If you need a base layer or long sleeve layering piece for when you have your sweat on, this is a great buy. I wore this during a tough mudder and it kept me warm and dried extremely quickly. I am 5'8 140 lbs and a M fit exactly like a base layer should without being skin tight.
I bring this along on most adventures

My experience of this shirt is pretty consistent with the description they provide.
I've used it as an under layer, and as an over layer, depending on how cold/warm it is. Pretty warm (see attached picture in which I am climbing the side of a mountain on a spring day) This shirt, layered over a short sleeve stoic merino wool, was enough for me, and I'm one to get cold fast.
The fabric is pretty soft, and light weight. Also used it while running, and it wasn't stuffy like other long sleeves would tend to get.
I've worn this shirt while: trail running, hiking, canyoneering, air boarding / sledding, snow shoeing, mountaineering, climbing, and mountainbiking.

I cant help it... this shirt doesnt seem to be doing much to "cut the chill" for the mannequin
but seriously, all stoic gear is great, breathes well, just be careful of the fit.

The shirt fits well except the neck is a bit tight. I ordered a large and I'm 5'5 119lbs with broad shoulders and 34D chest. Material is okay, though just a bit rough. Would have kept the shirt for the neck.

This is the first Stoic product I have purchased, and I am pretty happy with it. The shirt feels great and works great as a layer. I am a small build 5'5" 117 lbs and got a medium unsure of how the fit and length would be (I prefer longer sleeves-especially for shirts with thumb holes, the length was perfect and comfy, the shirt has larger thumb holes) I tried shrinking it in the dryer (which shrunk it down a size and it was still a little large but works great for what I need it for). I had something that stuck to it in the dryer and it ripped some of the stitching out, so it is a bit fragile for how rough I am on equipment but would still buy another one (in an extra small and air dry). My boyfriend bought the same shirt in a men's and complained the neck opening was too tight-which it is a bit small on the ladies too.
Great Base Layer

My boyfriend got me this top as a gift in the excalibur/flambe - which is more of a grey with pink (super cute!) in my normal size. I am a tall girl who has a hard time finding tops long enough in both the torso and arms, this fits perfectly. It isn't too tight around the body and seems very warm, I was also able to wear a tank underneath without it being too snug. The only complaint I have is that the neck is tight, I hate things snug around my neck but after a little while it isn't an issue.. Plus, the thumb holes rock!
Love this top!

So I bought this top, thinking it would be just an average underlayer. It fits PERFECTLY and is uber comfortable. I wore it most days on an 8-day river trip, it's never really too hot for it, and always kept me warm, even if it got wet. The fit is perfect. I usually wear a medium, but the sleeves of shirts are usually too short for me, these are JUST RIGHT. I came back and ordered 2 more.
Sweet Stoic long sleeve shirt!

This pretty shirt has a great design and great material. Love the "Sugilite" color. For reference, I am 5'2'' and 112 lbs and got the XS and fits great (tight enough so it fits me nicely and still lets me move comfortably). I am loving it!!!
All around good time

Used this top as a base layer while boarding or as the top layer when running, keeps heat close when you need it, but breathes like it should when you need to stay cool. My only half complaint about this shirt, is that I'm 5'11" and I wish the thumb holes were a little further down to fit longer arms-- but they still work just fine and are comfortable enough that this shirt makes it into my bag wherever I'm headed for outdoor shenanigans. Oh, and the sugilite/ceramic combo is pretty rad-- appreciate the bright options.
I Love Stoic

I absolutely love Stoic clothing.
This shirt fits me perfect. I am 5'5" and a size M fits me great.
I love the thumb holes and the flattering fit. I wear this running and as a base layer for skiing.
This shirt keeps me warm without overheating.
