Best Baselayer I've got

By:
February 9, 2012

This is one of the best shirts that I own. As always, stoic delivers.
The fit is perfect if you're looking for something slim - I'm 5'8'' and 150 lbs, and it fits ideally.
First and foremost, this shirt is warm. Its warm enough to keep me comfortable in 20 degrees F when I'm snowshoeing, hiking, or climbing.
Further, its water resistant. While this doesn't mean much when its raining, it shrugs off snow without any issues, so hiking through the woods without a shell is no problem.
Finally, the zip is perfect for thermoregulation, and the pocket is the perfect stash for my knife, matches, and map.
This is probably one of my favorite clothing articles, and I recommend it wholeheartedly.

Excellent, stylish, midlayer

By:
January 28, 2013

Paired with a base layer and a down jacket, I was comfortable into the teens. The material is excellent for wicking away moisture and is good enough to withstand temperatures in the 50's with just a base layer and no shell. I also was very comfortable in -10 with a base layer, Columbia fleece, and Patagonia down sweater jacket. As for fit and looks, I love this piece. I highly recommend it.

I'm 5'6 150lbs. Should I get a small or medium?

Hey Justin,

Depends how you want it to fit, I would suggest the medium.

was my go to shirt for 7 days in Montana and still didn't smell. Great big zipper for showing off the ol' chest as well.

perfect shirt

By:

Been using this at work patrolling for most of the winter, and it has held up great. It's a nice weight for a lot of temps, wicks, and dries fast.

To thick

By:
January 16, 2012

I did not like this layer, it was too thick and did not wick well. I could be ok for kayaking but then what is the pocket for? I it was scratchie on the inside even after a few washes.

layer

By:

this makes a great mid to heavy weight layer when running on brisk days. the added chest pocket is a nice bonus for an id/credit so you don't have to bring your favorite fanny pack on your next training run.

sleeves are long and do a great job keeping wrists and hands warm but thumb-holes would also be a nice addition.

Gettin Stoic'd

By:
January 3, 2012

I love this. Super warm and a comfy. It does have a trim fit, I am 6' and about 160 and the large is great. Breaths really well and is perfect for layering. I will be buying more Stoic gear for sure.

YES!

By:
January 5, 2012

This is a great piece! I use it for winter running. It hasn't been that cold yet, but I'm able to wear it down to 30 degrees w/ just a wicking t-shirt underneath, and 15 with a lightweight long-sleeve. It breathes extraordinarily well and I find that it blocks the wind very well as well.

I actually have the grey and liked it so much I went ahead a bought another in the red!

Great work Stoic!

Nice and Dry

By:
November 30, 2011

It fits very close to the skin, and as long as you're expecting this trim/close fit, it runs true to size. I'm 6'1 and 185-190, and I wear a large. The colors on the gray and red are great, and the zipper is solid as well, and very long which offers plenty of fresh air. All in all, very happy with the purchase.
