Spy Platoon Goggle w/ Free Bonus Lens

Item # SPY0287

Not to be left behind by the oversized-lens phenomenon, Spy introduces the Platoon Goggle, boasting the biggest field of vision in all of Spy's lineup. Large spherical lenses offer tons of peripheral vision with no optical distortion, while Scoop venting technology prevents the dreaded mid-run 'foggles'.

  • Includes free bonus lens to keep you equipped for a variety of light conditions

Definitely a pair of goggles for those with big heads because this pair of goggles are pretty huge. Spy makes one of the best lens out there so clarity and fog is not an issue. The design isn't the most stylish but the function of the goggles is good.

Top notch!

These are so big and nice. The field of vision is insane. And you still don't look like an over sized bug because of the smooth frame. No fogging, and very helmet compatible!

Maybe, it depends on your frames. My son wears glasses and these didn't work for him. Electric's EG2 had enough room for his specs. Of course the very expensive ones worked. kids a so damn pricey. these platoons seem like a better value if they work for you because price point. also they are big and stylee, and they have a silicone strip on the elastic band which helps tremendously when wearing a helmet (the EG2's don't and cost more, hmmm). I got platoons cause there so fresh, he got giant EG2's for his specs and big face cause he isn't handsome like his daddy yet.

Field of view

By:
February 22, 2012

I have had these for a few weeks now. They drastically increase field of view. Like all other Spy's goggles they fog very little, even when digging yourself out of a hole. If you want to be able to see everything, these are the goggles to have.

Now Backcountry.com needs to carry more replacement lenses for Spy Platoon!

great goggles

By:

definitely for large heads but you don't need some pumpkin head to wear them comfortable comes with bonus lens witch is great haven't gotten to text them out yet but i will tomorrow i don't really know how well the scoop venting is but I'm sure its great. had the oakley ambush goggles but they fogged terribly so i bought these. and the mask i am wearing in the photo is a air hole its so the steam from my breathing doesn't shoot up my goggles like my other face mask that completely covered my face

b/c oakley's are way too small

By:
February 7, 2012

I am completely tired of the narrow fitting Oakley goggles. Thankfully they are coming out with the "canopy" goggle for 2013. Regardless, I bought the SPY's on a whim and am more than happy with the fit and function. I wear a Bern Baker helmet and these things fit so weil over or under the helmet. The frame is huge which is a bonus for those with a wider face, no necessarily "asian" either (oakley). Yea they will be pretty big on the scrawney people of the world but that is no reason to mark these goggles down.

Finally, little to no fog build up, comfort all day. just bought my second pair. Can't wait!!

wow. Nice.

By:

These goggles are awesome. Wore them for four days in Breckenridge and Keystone with warmer weather. No fogging even when sweating. I thought they would be a little tight on the bridge of my nose, but the foam 'adjusts' to your face very well. No pressure points and great vision. I got the Special Ops with the blue/yellow lens and they look sweet. They were a little more than I usually like to spend but they are totally worth the price.

Huuge Goggles

By:
December 28, 2011

As advertised, these goggles have a very large fit, and not for people with small faces. They just barely fit under my size L Smith Variant helmet. Bronze w/ Red Spectra lens is an awesome color, great for low light situations and night skiing as well as sunny bluebird days. They have yet to fog on me after three weeks of skiing with them.
