Hike down an icy trail or use them with your snowshoes; either way, you'll be plenty warm in the Sorel Women's Caribou Boot. Rated to -40F, the Caribou Boot is built from a waterproof full-grain leather upper attached to a vulcanized rubber bottom. Metal shanks across the heel and ball of your foot give you sturdy footing across uneven terrain. The Caribou Boot is waterproof, and the 9mm ThermoPlus felt liner is removable, so you can dry them out between uses.
Bottom Line:
Made to keep your feet warm and dry in cold, wet conditions.
These boots are warm, waterproof, and a classic winter boot. That being said, I find them VERY bulky, so consider ordering a half to full size smaller than you otherwise might. Also, the inner-lining slips out every time I take them off, which is annoying. Otherwise, a very dependable winter boot!
These boots were SO heavy I couldn't hardly walk in them. According to alot of other posts they ran one size larger....not for me. I returned them and Back Country was wonderful! I will order from them again, just not those boots :)
I ordered these in a size 9, I usually wear an 8- 8 1/2 but I think they run HUGE, even with a pair of heavy socks. I already ordered them in a 8 and I am returning the 9. I don't think the boots are as heavy as others have said. The quality seems great and they are snow boots after all, not ballet flats!
These boots are ridiculously amazing! Yes they are heavy, and take getting used to (especially when driving or hiking in), but like any good winter boot, you have to break them in. Now, I couldn't live without them. I wear a size 7 1/2-8 usually, so I bought a size 8, and they fit like a dream. However, I choose to wear mine with a pair or two of thicker ski socks. These boots run narrow, yet are boxy, so my recommendation is that if you have a somewhat narrow foot, size down. If you have a wider foot or are planning to wear them with thick winter socks and want some wiggle room for comfort - stick with your natural shoe size. I've had them for 3 months now, and have no complaints, experienced zero water damage, and have nothing but pure love for these toasty winter companions!
Yes, there are .. but, if you want the same level of insulation, then maybe not. Some of the Tivoli models offer light insulation and a lower profile. Also, check out Cate the Great, and the Joan of Arctic boots. Again, these won't be as warm as the Caribou. Hope this helps you, Mary.
They are not waterproof. After getting them last fall for ice fishing I started wearing them late into autumn after temperature dropped to 30s F. Right away I noticed that they leak water. So I complained to Sorel. They agreed to accept and inspect them if I shell out for shipping to their warehouse in France. So I did. They inspected the boots and determined that they are faulty and sent me a new replacement pair. Right away I decided to check if they are waterproof so I immersed them in couple inches of water. One of the boots was taking water like a sieve. It was full of water in matter of minute. So it's a shame on Sorel part for peddling such poor quality product. Attached photo of brand new out of the box Sorel Caribou boot after it was immersed in couple of inches of water for couple minutes.
In the picture, it looks like the sole of the boot was cut. I've had Sorel boots for years and never had a problem with them. I live in Canada so the weather is brutal and through rain, snow or ice, I've never had water in my boots...ever!
The discrepancy may be due to what kind of socks these folks are wearing with the boots vs. their normal shoes. I'm a 5.5 and I tried these boots on in store with running socks and the size 6 seemed too big. When I got home, I tried them on with my thick wool socks and the 6 was perfect.
I bought these boots for my girlfriend and she can be picky. They are a little bulky, but what good winter boot isnt? At first she wasnt very happy with the size, but once she started stomping around in the snow hiking, she fell in love with shoe and getting outside with some snow on the ground.
This is a fabulous boot for snowy and cold winters. I have been impressed with how warm the shoes are, particularly because I get cold feet quickly in the winters of Minnesota. The boots are true to size and what's great is that they comfortably fit a thick pair or two thinner pairs of socks and still give your feet room to move. I usually wear a size 10 and ordered a 10 and am perfectly happy with them. Their traction is very good. I love the green color - something different for a change. The price is worth it because they will last for years. Highly recommended!
I'm looking for some snow boots for some serious backcountry
I'm looking for some snow boots for some serious backcountry snowshoeing, I'm concerned that on longer trips snow may collect in the faux fur, get melted by body heat and wicker moisture in to the boot -- I find on powder days I always manage to get some snow between the cuff and sleeve of my snow pants. Has anyone had this sort of problem?
Yes ... many are not aware that urine is a tool ... not a waste product. If your faux fur freezes up, simply pee on it and keep walking. Hope this helps!
Actually, to be somewhat helpful what i recommend is the North Face Snow Sneaker III. It has ridges for you snowshoes and is waterproof and insulated. This shoe combined with gaiters gives you great freedom of movement and will keep it lightweight. D-ring near toebox helps secure gaiters; discreet ledge at back of heel helps keep snowshoe heel straps in place
A good pair of gaiters should eliminate that problem! Right over the boot and up to about your knee or mid shin depending on lower leg length, and you're covered. Some (most?) have an elastic band that snugs around the sole of the boot to hold the bottom of the gaiter in place.
I traveled from sunny California to Banff, Canada for Christmas where it was -15 F and found that Sorel's are to Canada what flip-flops are to California. These were the boots of choice for the dogsledding team that thought -15 F was a WARM day for the winter. My feet were warm and cute the entire trip. I got the Caribou in the Elderberry color and I never wanted to take them off. They run a size large so I got a 7 instead of an 8 and they were perfect w/a pair of merino wool socks (don't wear cotton in cold weather). P.S.- the bubble cleats kept me from slipping in the ice even once!
Thanks for the recommending the Caribou Cold Weather Boot. As a person who has a history of freezing her feet, I can attest to the fact that the boots keep your feet warm in the coldest of weather! Hats off to you and your wonderful product!
I love my sorels! It took me a while to finally just suck it up and buy a nice pair of winter boots and when I bought my sorels I just wish I bought them sooner! I highly recommend getting a pair!
These boots are made exceptionally well and are very warm and dry, as would be expected of Sorel. Unfortunately, that's the only good thing about them. These boots are the clunkiest clodhoppers I've ever tried on. They run huge...I'm a 6-1/2 so I ordered a 7. My feet slip and slide in these things and that's with thick winter socks and an additional insole added. They are a pain in the butt to get into and get laced up. They also do not stay tied...I am constantly having to retie them (not easy when your hands are frozen). They are so tight around the ankle leg that you cannot tuck your pants into them and after a few minutes of walking in them (I have to be in them for hours at a time mucking out horse stalls), they start hurting the backs of my calves. I would have sent these back the day I got them if I hadn't been so desperate for a warm dry boot...we got two feet of snow the day I got them. I truly H-A-T-E these boots and wish I'd immediately returned them. I had previously ordered/returned the Cate the Great Boot thinking they weren't tough enough for being in mud/snow for several hours a day...I wish I'd kept them!!!
I did not see this option available online but is there a way
I did not see this option available online but is there a way for the site to let me know when these will be in stock with more sizes? I'm interested in purchasing one in a size 8.
There is a feature to be emailed when the product is back in stock after it is completely sold out. Unfortunately it is not specific for size and color options. But don't be too sad, this is a carry-over piece meaning although being a seasonal product, will be in stock again when it is in season. The best thing to do is keep your eyes peeled...
I finally bought these boots after looking at them for two months. The first time I wore them, I couldn't believe how comfortable they were. When I go outside in the snow, whether to the mailbox, campus, or the local tavern, I am in these boots. I refuse to wear anything else. My feet are now the warmest part of my body when I leave the house - and I wish I'd purchased them two month ago. I wear a size 8.5 normally, and bought these boots in a size 8, and they fit perfect (especially with smart wool socks). Their traction is great on ice, and my feet are completely dry. And this site was great, as was 5 day shipping (got them in 3 days).
I just bought my 2nd pair. After 40 yrs,the tread was pretty tired on my 1st pair. These are the only boots that ever kept my feet warm and dry. They are comfy and easy to get on and off.I bought a size 7(usual shoe size, too) and they are a bit big but I like to wear 2 prs.of socks and have wiggle room.Works wonderfully for me.These are excellent boots and I highly recommend them!!
How do they run? Can you please fax me or email me one of those
How do they run? Can you please fax me or email me one of those foot charts where you put your foot on the image of a foot to determine what size shoe to get? My daughter needs these for conditions at school in Boulder, Co and ordering on line is so tricky! For example, she is a size 9 normally but takes an 8 in a Hunter welly rainboot since they run large, Let me know please!! Thanks. fax 650-321-2663
We don't have one of those shoe sizing things to fax you but I have spoken to the buyer that purchases the Sorel Caribou and recommends buying a size down. They do run large. Dogfunk will also be happy to take back returns with no problem.
The best winter boot hands down. Order a 1/2 size smaller than normal. Your feet will NOT get cold in these boots. They last for years; I've had the same pair since 1980. Have bought one new pair of felt liners. They rock!
Great Boots!!! I had the same boot when I was a kid and my feet were never cold, even at 20 below in the mountains of western Wyoming. Now, I'm still trapsing around the moutanins and my feet are warm and dry. I've used them on short hikes and for longer snowshoes without blisters. They even look cute to wear around town over jeans. If you are a half size order up or they will be a bit too snug.

I live in Buffalo, NY and I have to walk very long distances, in snow and rain... would the boots be a good investment if I wear them on a day to day basis? And would they help me stay warm and dry?
These boots are built to last. I've met people who've had their boots for over twenty years. No joke. I wear a ladies size nine in normal street shoes and I take a sorel size 8.
They're perfect for that. They're designed to take daily wear and tear, and of course they're completely waterproof and will absolutely keep you warm and dry.
These boots are amazing! Not only do they keep your feet super toasty and dry, they are very comfortable. I never knew I could enjoy shoveling the snow. I recently wore them snowshoeing in Yellowstone and they really proved their worth. Excellent purchase. They do fit big, though. I purchased my regular size and they were big so I compensate with a thicker sock and that does the trick.
I absolutely love this boot. I was a Lifty at Alta Ski Area this past winter, so these boots definitely were "field tested". My feet stayed super warm and the traction was amazing on snow and ice. The one downside is the laces don't stay tied all the time, but that's a simple fix with a double knot- or just different laces. Sorel's will last forever!! Very durable- after the season my boots still look brand new. Word of Advice- buy a size or 1/2 size bigger than you need. The insole will pop out easily if the boot is too tight (which isn't that big of a deal, and as the boot wears in the insole begins to stay). Also, a size up will give you room to layer your feet with nice warm socks if you're planning on being in the cold for a few hours.
I got my boots in a size up, which I had to return and get the size smaller. That said, I love my boots! I'm form a warm climate and went to Chicago in the recent snow. They keep my feet warm and dry and were super cute. I got compliments from the locals!
Let me start by saying the Sorel's I ordered are a very durable warm boot and the name speaks for itself when it comes to quality. My problem with these boots is they are big and clunky. As a small person I should have given that some thought before I purchased them. I also listened to the review about size. They fit as any other shoe, boot or sneaker would. So when ordering order your normal size not a size smaller like some reviewers suggested. I would recommend this boot to any one except a small framed woman.
Now on to customer service. I had to exchange the first pair because they were small (no fault of Sorel but of a reviewer or two). The first person I chatted with was very pleasant and answered my many questions with such professionalism. He led me in the right direction and my exchange went along flawlessly. Then I receive the new pair and they didn't fit so well either but that was my fault I should have realized from the first pair that the big and chunky wasn't going to go away. The second representative was also very nice. Since it was my second time around I didn't overwhelm him with many questions. But again, my transaction went smoothly and without flaws.
In conclusion - Sorel is a great boot and Backcountry I would order from you again based on your customer service who deserve a pat on the back. Thank you!
I wear a womens street shoe 9-9.5 and take a sorel size 8 in womens. The women's fit narrower and I found that the 9's were way to big (I tried them on at a mtn retail shop)
I usually wear a size 8 and got the size 8! With thick socks they are perfect. A winter boot that is too tight is NOT GOOD at all. Your feet will not be as warm, no matter what kind of boot you wear! I prefer them being too big than too small. But it also depends on your feet. I have a wide foot so staying true to my size was better, in my case.
Everybody's different, but I think you'd be good. I ordered my actual size first and even with the thickest socks I own my feet were still flopping around and I had to send them back and get a size smaller. They fit great!
I have bee wearing Sorel Caribous for 30 years. They are a mainstay in my wardrobe here in Telluride, Colorado. One of my secret pleasures is getting a new pair, I recently received a pair and couldn't get them on since the liner was so tightly sewn together all the way to the top with some material with very little stretch, also the liner was a lot thinner than my old ones. Then I compared the boot sole to sole with my old boot and these were wider and an 1 1/2" longer. I realize the boots are made in China now and not Canada and I do appreciate the new styles Sorel has come out with - I just miss my old Sorels with the thick liners, lug soles and snug fit. Unfortunately I am returning these and looking for some on Ebay from canada!!

Write your question here...i wear a womans size 11. I also wear heavy socks sometimes in the winter. Could I really go down to a size womans 10 and not be too small?
I have a few pairs of Sorel boots and have always stuck with my regular size 10 (and thats what i'd reconmend to anyone to start out with, cause you can exchange it if its too big), there is a little wiggle room all around, but that is always good in case one wants to add more socks. Even with just one pair of socks on though i'm not swimming in them, and they fit just fine...But everyone is different, and with all of these different reviews it makes me wonder if there is some inconsistency in the sizing of the product itself, then again, the 3 pairs of Sorels I have all fit me exactly the same (i know thats a small sample size), but maybe some people might not know their real shoe size or are in between shoe sizes??? All you really have to do is go to their site (www.sorel.com) and click on a boot and then click on the size button and you can measure for yourself in inches or cm's what size you would be in their shoes...

If these weren't so massive and heavy I'd have given them five stars. They're a great boot that do exactly what they're supposed to do- keep your feet warm and keep you on your feet- but make no mistake, they are clunky and they are heavy. However, I find the weight and size worth it as the soles are very very nonslip, the liner is comfortable, and the whole thing is super warm. My feet are always frozen. The day I got these I went hiking in the snow for a few hours in 25 degree weather, and my feet were hot.
I got the boots to walk the dog. I live in a very active weather climate and get rain, slush, snow, and ice. I can actually run on ice in the boots!!! I ware a 6 1/2 and found a size 7 to fit the best.
Very comfy and warm boots. Not heavy at all compared to other boots of equal insulation quality. I've used mine the entire winter season (5 months where I live) for 4 years to normal daily walking, but also snow shoeing and longer walks, and they are still warm and comfy. But the rubber around the lower part is now beginning to crack, and they will not last a new season (unless duck tape is used). But I am so fond of them, that I'am now ordering a new identical pair :)

AAAgh! I wear a size 10 normally, and everyone here says go half a size down for correct fit. Unfortunately, there is no such thing as 9 1/2. I'm debating, go down to a 9 or stick with a 10 which is too big? help!

Go down a size!!!! I promise!!!! I normally wear a size 6 or 7 and I had to get a size 5 for them to fit and that's the smallest size they make. I could've gone even smaller!
I love these boots! I wear a size 8 shoe, and these fit just find for me. Even with one pair of thinner socks on. They are very warm and you can take the lining out of them. I have not yet worn them in very deep snow, but so far have not had any issues with snow getting in. They are a must have for the winter wardrobe!

9's will work great. The nice thing about these boots is you can wear really thick socks for warmth or you can slip a 2nd set of insoles in there to take up some space.
I bought these boots because I go to football games and needed something to protect me in cold weather. They are not as effective if you are sitting still for long periods of time. But when shovelling snow and being active in cold weather, they are great. The one complaint I have - they fit great the first time I wore them. The second and subsequent times, they began to expand. So, when you first put them on, you are please with the fit. After that, you'd better wear really thick or a couple pairs of socks because they feel a lot bigger on your foot.
we did some hiking in not so deep powder and had no problems. For deep powder i would either put my pants over the boor or use gaiters to protect from snow.
I have a narrow (2A) foot and am trying to find winter/waterproof
I have a narrow (2A) foot and am trying to find winter/waterproof boots. Have tried Kamik in a similar style boot and my feet are swimming. If I go down a size my toes touch the end. Tried the thick socks to fill space but my feet are still sliding around. Has anyone with narrow feet tried these...or have a suggestions to try? Thanks!
I bought these for my 14 year old daughter for Christmas! I am hoping these will be sufficient for snowmobiling. A salesperson at REI suggested these for the snow, but they don't carry the black ones, so I ordered through Backcountry! I ordered these a size smaller (8), as the reviewers below say these run big. My daughter is an 8 1/2- 9. Don't be fooled by the reviews below saying to order a size smaller! Unfortunately, I listened to what people were saying, and had to return the 8's and order the NORMAL size 9. The 8's were too short. I am pleased with BackCountry's return policy, it was very easy, and they provided a UPS label, just like that. It did cost me $6.99 to ship these back to them, but didn't cost me to ship the orders to me. So I'm out $6.99, not a huge deal. My daughter likes the look of these, now let's see if they do the job of keeping her feet warm and dry!!
I bought these boots for my little Sis for Christmas. She loves them merely for their classic, yet trendy look. She could honestly careless that they will last forever or that her feet will be impervious to frigged environments- girls... Either way, my sister normally wears a size 6.5, but because they are sooo trendy, they were soldout. I ended up getting her a size 6. They fit her great. So with that being said, they run a little bit big.

I've had a version of the Sorel Caribous for more than 15 years (not sure they were called Caribous back then, but they look the same). I wear them with liner socks only. Super warm and comfortable. Only have had to replace the linings once. They remain waterproof and the soles barely show wear. Great for snowshoeing, hiking in snow and good traction. The only thing is you'll need to wear gaiters in deep snow. Otherwise highly recommended.
I have had my present pair for 26 years. They spent the first 3 winters working the ski lifts in Jasper Alberta, then have put miles and miles of hiking, snowshoeing, trudging behind a snowblower and just workng an active outdoor life. I love these boots but alas it is time to replace them and I want no others than a new pair of the same boot. You can't go wrong with these boots if you are looking for strong durability and comfort. Give the leather some TLC with conditioner and they will last forever.
I bought my first pair of these Sorel boots 27 years ago and am just now having to replace them. They have withstood years of working ski lifts in Jasper Alberta, a million miles of hiking, snowshoeing and trudging behind a snow blower. Love these boots, hope my next ones last just as well.
I'm planning to be in Yellowstone in January -doing some hiking and snowshoeing. My current 'sorel-like' REI boots are just too roomy around the ankle and my feet move and slip as I walk, so I'm looking for a better fitting snow boot. I saw that you said that you snow shoe, are these snug-fitting around your foot, ankle and lower leg?
I saw this boot on Brad Pitt in a random shoot... I HAD to have it! I could not find this many colors anywhere! Dog Funk has made my hunting come to an end and now I have to pick what will be my second color now!
Not so much. They have a bit of support but I have yet to find a boot with what you could consider actual support. The upside of these boots is that they tend to have a little extra wiggle room so you could add foot beds in them.Hope that helps.
Perfect winter boot, warm, comfort and keeps your feet dry! It does run big so I suggest a half size to full size down, and the boots do look a little manly in the larger sizes.
although super warm and fuzzy, these boots run larger than anything i've seen yet! i am a solid 10.5/11, started w/the 11s, downsized to the 10s, and they are still huge. great boot if you can get the fit right.

I have a pair of Sorel "RAM" boots. Size 6 or 9 w/ a leaf on the side. Are they Men's or Women's? (I bought them at a thrift store for $6!) Plus, I need replacement liners....Where do I find them AND what size should I buy? Depends on if they are M/W or a 6 or 9.....HELP PLEASE!My email is carenb46@comcast.net if email is easier....THANKS AND HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!!!;o)
I believe that's just the older logo. The best thing to do is call the folks at Sorel and ask them. They'll have a complete history and be able to look up exactly what you have and know what to do. Sorry it's not more direct help but that's the best thing you can do.
These are the first boots I have bought in a long time-I was living in the south and once we returned north I was in denial about needing them-:) After slipping and sliding thru the first few storms of the season and watching my husband shoveling in his Sorels( they are 15 years old)-I bit the bullet and bought myself a pair- The day after I recieved them -it snowed 30 inches- I never had to stop- keep right on driving and tromping through the snow delivering flowers ( I own a small florist outside of Philadelphia Pa). I love them so much I ordered my husband a new pair-(the new puppy had chewed the insoles on his old pair) and 3 other pairs for our adult children. Our son that lives in Wisconsin was delighted said they were the warmest and best for non slip travel he has experienced. I hope I only need them a few times a year-but expect they will be my last pair of boots for another VERY long time! :)
I'm returning these after having them for a while and finally giving up. I bought them to wear in Chicago - I'm in grad school and I do a lot of walking on campus and to and from the bus. These boots are super warm and the traction was great when I was outside - they are definitely bulky and heavy though. My biggest problem with them is that every time I went into a building they were all of a sudden really slippery. These boots would be great if you were just going to be wearing them outside, but if you're going in and out of buildings, I definitely don't recommend them. The description on the website should say that these are intended for outdoor use, and only if you need really heavy-duty boots.

Looked all around for these and am happy with them so far. They are SUPER bulky. Hard to drive in, etc but great for the snow. They seem really sturdy and I'm very satisfied!
Love these boots! I wear a 7 1/2 in regular shoes and bought a 7. They fit perfectly. They are very durable and waterproof. They are a little heavy and take some getting used to while driving. I have received many compliments on them when wearing them out. They look huge, but are still pretty cute in their own way. I liked them so much I bought a pair of Sorels for my boyfriend. He's happy too.

I got these for my wife. She has worn them a couple times now for Ice Fishing. She says that her toes will still get a little cold, but that these are much warmer than other boots she has owned.
I got her a size 9. She got mad because I didn't remember she was a size 10. I told her that all the reviews said that they run a size larger and that I was told to order them a size smaller than normal. Skeptical, she tried them on...yep, perfect fit!
Originally founded in Ontario, Canada in 1908. In 2000 Sorel became a division of the Columbia Sportswear Company. The actual footware is probably made somewhere in Asia, like most other things.
These are by far the warmest boots I have ever owned. I was looking for a good all around snow boot for winter hiking, snowshoeing and just being outdoors. I've been wearing these boots a lot and they are extremely warm, I've been out in 10 degree weather or less for hours and not had any problem with them. They are a little clunky and heavy but I don't mind because they keep me warm. I normally wear a size 6.5... I ordered a 6 and they a perfect with thick socks.
I love this shoe, good for rain and snow. They're very clunky, but it's not a fashion shoe. I'm a size 7.5 (w) and got a 7, and have a ton of room for a good, warm sock.
My wife needs a wide width generally. I have a hard time geeting
My wife needs a wide width generally. I have a hard time geeting winter boots for her. Most manufacturers or suppliers do not have anything but medium width. Will this boot accomodate a wider foot by going up a size?????
They sure will. In either mens or women's they fit generally pretty wide. You can keep the same size and expect that they are going to be plenty wide.Hope that helps.
I just want to post a comment regarding the sizing of these boots, which I purchased for my size 7.5 daughter. Based on so many reviewers stating that these boots ran large, I bought a size 7. My daughter, living in the forests of eastern Oregon, has tried them on and says that she wouldn't be able to wear anything other than a thin sock with the size 7, and will have to exchange for an 8. A snow boot should obviously leave room for heavy socks, and based on this recent knowledge, I recommend that ladies who wear a half size order UP, rather than down. My star rating is random, since I haven't worn a pair of these boots.
Bought these boots in a womens 9 - which is my usual size - and felt like I was wearing clown shoes! Even with thick socks, they would still be huge. I actually think they are a mens 9, and compared them to my husband's shoes (he wears a mens 9) - they are much closer in size to his shoes than mine! Anyway, I'm returning them and see that they're pretty much sold out of this model, so maybe I'll try again next year. Bummer. Wanted them to wear to work (Ski Patrol).
daughter loves the boot, she wears a 7.5, but after reading the reviews I ordered her an 8, too big. I told wear heavier socks or two we'll see what happen. Did not have time to send them back, for she needed them for the weekend.
I bought these for my fiance as a Christmas present, and bought a full size above her shoe size. The boots fit with room for heavy-ish socks, and she absolutely loved wearing them in the 2 feet of new snow we had just prior to christmas.
Bought a pair for myself loved them so much I bought a pair for my sister! Perfect for snow, I wear them to the mountain, walking the dog and to work on those really nasty days.
I returned these boots. I ordered an 8, which fit great for my size 7.5 feet, but it looked like I was wearing my husband's size 12 shoe!!! These are just really GIANT boots. They were bulky and heavy. I am sure they would be great for a much more rugged need. I wanted them because I wanted to have something waterproof and warm that would give good traction on icy/snowy outings. These were just not meant to be an everyday boot for me. They were very warm, but I just could NOT get over the size of them. Backcountry was great with my return! I am going to look for some boots, it just will not be these!
All I can say right now is that they are larger than the stated size. I usually wear a 7-7.5 in boots or anything I wear with thick socks (size 6 in dress shoes with no socks, and 6.5 in running shoes). I ordered a size 6 in the Caribou and there is still room in there even with two pairs of thick socks... Haven't tried them in Alaskan interior yet (or anywhere but my bedroom to check for size), but I will update this soon with reviews for warmth and comfort. As far as looks, they're gorgeous and will fit under boot cut jeans, but can also have jeans tucked in without looking weird.
Love these boots. Warm, stylish and best of all...waterproof! :)
these boots are amazing!! I have been wanting them for months now and finally decided to buy them and i have never been happier. I wear a size 7.5 so I bought the 7 and it fits nicely with a thick pair of socks.
I did a TON of research and narrowed down my choices to this boot and the Columbia Bugaboot, and I am glad I picked these! My feet get cold very easily and I was worried these would be too warm when I'm inside but they seem to regulate heat well. They are super comfortable, really warm, great lug sole and supple uppers. Be warned though, I did have to return mine and get a size smaller than I normally wear since my feet were literally flopping around in them, as others have stated. I thought they wouldn't be that much bigger, but they really seem to run an entire size bigger.
I don't agree! My daughter wears an 8 1/2- 9, I ordered the 8, as I was reading these reviews, but had to send them back and get the 9's. I even tried them on myself, I am an 8-8 1/2, and they were too short! Our toes totally touched the top of the boots.

Excellent traction - toasty warm - waterproof. I followed the advice of the other reviewers and ordered a 9 instead of my usual 9 1/2 wide. Great advice. They do run big - the 9 fits perfect. I also used the 'chat now' feature to help pick the right boot (for ice fishing). The chat now feature saved me a significant amount of searching.
When we moved from CA to IL this year, our movers lost all of our boots (winter, ski, board...7 pairs). I had the Sorel Caribous before and they were the first thing I replaced. They were great in the Tahoe snow and are great in Chicago slush/ice/snow. They are really warm. My regular size is a women's 8. Last time, I bought a size 8 because I figured that with ski socks on they would be snug. They were a bit too big even with thick socks, and wished I had gone a size smaller, so this time I did. The 7s fit great and I love the elderberry color. They are very warm because they don't get wet with the rubber sides, and they are lined with warm fuzzy stuff. I even like to wear them around the house if I can't find my slippers.
I love love love these boots. They are so comfortable and warm. They are easy to slip on and can get you through anything. They run really big- I'm a 7.5 and had to send the 7 back and get a 6. The 6 fits perfectly.
I bought a pair of these boots for my girlfriend for Christmas. She loves them! In fact, since we had snow, I couldnt get her to take them off! I read some reviews before buying that complained about how big these boots are. Hey! They're snow boots! They're not dainty. Comfortable and warm describes them - I bought a pair for myself a few years ago. Delivery was as promised. I went to Sorel's website and at the time I bought the boots Backcountry.com was listed as a retailer. So I felt confident I was buying from a reputable supplier.
My feet are always cold so in light of a trip to be in the snow fro a week it was very important that I prepare. These boots are fantastic. Comfortable, warm, excellent grip. Very happy!
Having already owned these in the men's version, and it was easy to purchase a pair for my wife. The styling is attractive and there simply is not a warmer boot with a better sole.
Anybody who lives around snow needs a pair of Sorels. Tried, true and tested - these boots are solid. They have much better traction than the older models.
I ordered these boots for me and my wife. It took only 5 days from ordering until I received it in Oslo Norway, and the service is really good. The boots are warm and awesome for Norwegian winter. My friends liked the boots too, so yesterday I ordered 2 more pairs. I can highly recommend both Backcountry and Sorrel Boots. Antonio. Oslo Norway.
Really love these boots! I just got them the other day and am really excited to try them out this winter. I normally wear an 8 or an 8.5 but I got these in a 7 and there is still plenty of room for thick socks. They are good in -40 degree weather and that is perfect for me because I hate being cold. They are a little big clunky but surprisingly very stylish. I really like the color and the fuzz at the top. My favorite part is that they are waterproof and I can trudge through the snow without worrying about getting wet. I almost wish they were a little taller. Compared to uggs they are a lot cheaper and A LOT more practical.
These boots rock! Super warm, easy to get on & off. The edamame color is great - not too bold, but something different. They run a bit big - I normally wear a 7 in a winter boot, and upon recommendation, got a 6 - Fit great! An awesome classic. I even got the man to do some shopping and pick up a pair for himself for the upcoming VT winter. A+ boot.
These things were ENORMOUS. I wear a size 9 or 9.5 normally and I ordered them in a size 9. Even with several layers of socks these things were swimming on my feet. I know sorels have a great reputation but these boots were not for me. I wanted something that I could really walk in and these things were just too clunky. Ended up with a pair of Keens that I love.
Since I wear a size 10 the boot is extremely big and heavy. Its ironic that I received them on Friday and awoke this morning to North Jersey first snow fall. Temps are 22degrees out and snow coming down. You know Im going to walk and get the paper. They felt warm and comfortable trying them on in the house and since they were recommended by a friend who knows the brand said they were the best, im sure I will just as toasty warm and comfortable outside. Off to get the paper I go wearing my Sorels.
