Bottom Line:
Rock the Skullcandy Skullcrusher Subwoofer Headphones on the slope or at home for the ultimate sound experience.
The bass in this is bumpin, love it so much with all my rap. They also work well for walkin around campus when it's -40 out, they make decent ear muffs ha. The downside comes with the amp, its kind of in an awkward spot on the headphones and because of the battery in it, it can be kinda heavy. But overall, love em
bass is rediculously loud. almost like bein in a car wit a 10 inch sub.. but apart from the bass, the sound quality is lacking. better alternatives are the SK pros and hesh. they still pump bass but also deliver clarity in the mid and high range
Hey Jeran, they will likely fit a 10 year old. I mean they'll be a little big, but that kid will be so STOKED! We have a 100% no-hassle return policy so if they really don't like them you can return or exchange.
Also, we only have one left so I'd jump on it if I were you!
I gave these a try because I love bass! I was dissapointed to find out that base sound artificial and fake like the headphones are trying to artificially add some bump instead of the music actually making the bump. They also require 1 AA Battery which is lame. They do have in line volume control though and you can turn the base on and off. I ended up getting the Hesh headphones instead. The Hesh sounds much better!

These headphones sound ok. the regular sound isnt anything special for the money. the cool part is the subwoofer, which comess in the form of a big plastic amp about halfway down the cord. its really heavy when the batteries are in it, so I wouldnt walk around with these unless you want a big chunk of plastic hooked to your belt. the bass sound is pretty cool, but it gets really annoying. they are foldable, but break REALLY easily. mine is held together with a rubber band. I'd recommend getting a different pair unless you REALLY want the bass.
I've had these for a while now, and I have to say, I had no idea you had to put a battery in the woofer part. Now I love them even more. Not only do they have a very appealing outer shell of art but they have an amazing sound to match.
I've had back to back models of Skullcrushers, and not because they broke. Sound is great, especially if you're into the low tones and rock the bass. Definitely recommend, and am a huge fan of everything Skullcandy.
When i was buying these i thought i was getting some good quality, cool looking headphones. But when i first put them on and turned up the tunes i soon found that these were not just another pair of headphones! First of all they are great sound canceling out headphones so that if you just wanna space out in the world of music you can. Then when i flipped the subwoofer switch on my whole head was shook! I have never seen or heard about headphones that actually shook your head! I will admit that the battery for the subwoofer can get drained fairly soon but its worth it! I am planning on wearing these on the slopes and i think they will preform well. If you are lookin for some great headphones that are very unique, these are the ones for you!
Looks like it would be about 59.10 CAD right now. There are extra shipping costs to Canada and there is no flat rate. Just add the items to your cart and fill out the shipping information...You will get shipping quotes before you pay.
I was lucky enough to win a pair of these at work and I just tested them out. The first song I listened to was "hip hop" by Dead Prez and it was epic! The bass on these is ridiculous and rattles your head, its awesome. For the price these are really good. They aren't as crisp as beat headphones are but these don't cost $300. Def worth the money!
I bought of pair of Skullcrusher Gridlock. For their price you can get much better headphones. Good sound quality, especially if you use the sub-woofer option but the battery you need drains easily. It's made very poorly and feels cheap. I had a pair for about a month then the clip that keeps the headband together broke off, so Skullcandy sent me a new pair for free and the samething happened. Now, I have a pair of Sony MDR XB7000 for the same price and 1000x better.
I love the sound of the bass that it amplifies and ive never heard better bass in any headphones yet! The only problem is that they do break pretty easily so be careful. But that's not a problem if u buy them from the skullcandy website or Zumies. They have a lifetime warranty and theyll take them in even if you dont have a reciept. They took mine in and gave me brand new ones for free! No matter what the problem is even if the bass goes out you can still get new ones for free under the warranty plan:) I would definately recommend these to anyone looking for an amazing bass.
deffinatly the skullcrushers, i had both of them and id preffer the skullcrushers much more. the bass is ridiculous on them and they have sounded the same for the 10 months i have had them. my G.I.'s blew out after that amount of time.
all of my friends that own G.I. headphones complain about the cord being short and the arms that hold the headphones are thin plastic and break easily. i would say the skullcrushers are the way to go.
the sounds quality is alright until you turn the sub woofer on. then they are sick. the only downside is that they are made of plastic so unless your careful they can break easily. and if you hear a rattling noise wen you turn the sub woofer on, try changing the battery. it fixed the problem for me atleast. and they fold up which is great for storage but they are annoying. wen you go to put them on sometimes they fold in half and its a pain in the ass. i would still get them though just because of the sub woofer.
Now i Kinda regret saying these things were pretty sick! Its been about 6 months since I've had them. I keep the bass at a moderate level, never too high. But I do like hearing bass in my songs, especially if i'm chillin with some Dubstep goin on.
THE BASS IS BROKEN. I can only hear a raspy KSHH KSHHHHH everytime a bass noise comes up now. I would say be weary of these headphones, I read up a lot on them. I guess this problem is fairly common. Just be aware that the bass may bust on you!!
Hellya! Thank you Jordan. I was sooo pissed off that I kept hearing a raspy noise. I thought forsure the woofer was Busted!! IT SOUNDED SO BUSTED WHEN I'D TURN IT UP.
Turns out you were right, I just needed to give it a new battery. WORKS LIKE AMAZINGNESS NOW! IM PUTTING UP ANOTHER REVIEW. I OWE U ONE JORDAN! U SAVED MY EARS FROM BASSLESS AMAZINGNESS!!
I've had these headphones for about 6 months now. Zero problems. These headphones have a little battery that goes in where normal headphones commonly have a volume control. On here its the bass control as there is no volume control but you can adjust it with your computer. The Bass on these is pretty sick. It makes Dubstep and any hard bass songs sound a million times better than any normal headphones. The sound quality isn't the best, so if you're planning on making high quality music then find another pair of headphones.
For any regular music or even HQ songs, these headphones are AMAZINGGG!!
I had these headphones briefly and I definitely like the earpads and the fold-ability of the headphones. The sound was definitely awesome, but I found the bass adjustment thing on the cord somewhat annoying. In the end I traded these for my sisters hesh headphones, and we were both happier for it. I believe it all comes down to personal preference, They did exactly what they were meant to though, and for that, I give them 4 stars.
It actually does sound really good. Be sure to keep the sub woofer volume fairly moderate as these have been known to blow fairly easy. The sub woofer that is, not the speaker.
I have had two pairs of these. Like everyone says, there is a subwolfer that rattles your head and is great if you like listening to music with heavy bass, as I do. Unfortunatly, the amp will go out without warning as it did with two(!) pairs that I owned. The plastic is wack as well and will break in more places than one. I snowboarded in them and they took on that challenge fine. They fit perfect with goggles and kept snug on my ears, but the quality is just too cheap for the price. I strongly reccommend another high bass headphone other than these as they are cheaply made and are sure to dissapoint sooner than later.
Don't pay retail for these things. If they're on sale cheap, they're ok sounding and work well if you sit at desk all day or are just chillin'. Don't forget to turn off the stupid driver control or it may be dead when you listen next. You can't also tell when the battery is dying, they can't play the bass anymore. If you work outside or ride, that inline battery is always in the way. You can make better sounding headphones without that thing, so Skullcandy should.
Sound is great on these. The sub is more of a shaker but cool, and adds a lot of bass. Make sure you bring an extra aa battery with you because you nvr know when it's going to die. The phones still work but no bass when the battery is dead. Don't like the fact that they have wires coming from both sides, and the battery should have been integrated into the headset in my opinion, makes them a little awkward. Overall I am very happy at this price point for them.
that's what these headphones say while on the airplane. This is the best headphone purchase i have made and I love these. they are soft on the ears and close out the outside world during airline travel. I was lucky enough to put these on after a day of skiing, fall asleep and awake in Cancuun, as though no time had passed.
I will say that SC has done a great job making these substantial phones rather small when folded up, and still they are a little bulbous for backpack storage
these are great. got mine off of whiskeyy militia for 17 bucks last year and they are still working great. these are usualy $80 so $49 is pretty good. when the bass is up all the way you can feel the bass literaly vibrate your head. if you put the bass on and put the headfones on your back YOU WILL GET A MESSAGE. these are great really, but sometimes they run out of batteries kinda fast.
alright so here's whats up with them. I bought them a few years back before I got serious into sound quality. obviously the bass is there, but it is deffinately overpowering. If you listen without the sub on the sound is very thin, tinny and just bad overall. Also, they are bad if you listen to your music loud which can be especially easy to do and not notice with these, this is especially bad because they deffinately have the potential to damage your ears, even without rediculous volume. If had my ears ringing after using them more than once before. As far as construction goes, it has been stated before and I'll say it again, the construction is cheap. its all plastic, the hinges and everything are plastic. It was the same deal with my TI's. I had them for less than a week before they broke and they sounded even worse. My fullmetal jackets lasted the longest and sounded the best but still nothing to write home about. They broke after about a month and a half of use. I have not broke my skullcrushers yet but thats because I havent used them in a long time and probably wont for a long time to come. I have realized that skullcandy is more for the aesthetic than honouring sound quality and durability. I have learned from my mistakes and will not be buying their products again. I dont mean to bash I just want to state oppinion and forewarn anyone who considers buying these, yeah you could go worse, but not by much... and for the price, you could deffinately do way better.
Now, I have the Snoop Dogg edition of these, and they work Amazing after 3 months of continuous use, The only downfall is that the Subwoofer requires a AA battery. But otherwise, these work Great! I reccomend these over Bose anyday, These have the noise cancelling ability that surpasses Bose's and They produce a louder sound than bose.
Strong bass, comfortable. Folding is kind of annoying, and battery housing is heavy. Amazing customer service. Broke on the mountain and Skullcandy sent me a whole new set.
Bass sounds good, but highs and mids aren't so good! If the battery dies they sound like poop, and it seems to die all the time for me! But they do keep your ears warm cause their huge!
Okay, so these heaphones are def not anything way speacial, but for only like thirty bux, I got mine form whisky Militia for 17, they are a badass deal. The bass is really not way awesome quality, but seriously who is a "Sound Coinsure"? The sound gets loud and you can adjust the bass to where it doesnt sound like crap. also you should look at the sound options on your device to see if you can bring out the best sound. The bass adjstment is in-line and needs one double-A battery, but that's no biggie. The physical headphones are pretty good quality, they are light weight and are not too tight or too big, I have a med.-lrg dome. Over all the headphones are no Bose, but being that we can get these things for 20 bucks I would say they are a def five, but on quality probably 3 & 1/2 or 4 (depending on how much you want to bitch about sound not sounding like God made it just for you. :D hope this helps
I bought a pair of these when skull candy wasnt to big. They were great especially for there time (this was like 2005ish). The bass certainly blew my mind. The hole thing will vibrate on your head from the crazy good bass. However as big of a SK fan i am, i must say they simply cant hit the high notes and the middles well. Its not to bad, but its certainly not good. I brought my old pair back to the stoor and with out question they gave me a brand new pair (there customer service is AWESOME). The plastic felt way cheeper than the older pair i had. They did not sound as good and they did not feel as good. The quality clearly went down and it was disapointing. one thing that was good though was that the newer ones are WAY more comfortable- super soft and nice ear covers. I have a pair of the GI's and they great- they can hit any range of notes and you can crank it up loud and it does not affect the sound. But i must say when im just looking to jam out i prefer the skull crushers. They may not be perfect on sound but the bass and the volume make it all worth it. So if your looking for an all around good headphone go GI, but if your looking to just JAM THE EF OUT- go skull crushers. especially if you like hip hop. dont pay more than 35 bucks for these. they will pop up on whiskey
I love mine. Good overall sound quality and the bass is awesome! Will rock your ears! If you love bass in your headphones, you'll absolutely love these!
these headphones sounded really nice when u have a battery int them but that only lasts about 1 or two weeks depending on how much u use it i dont want to always cary a AA batt around with me every where i go
The skullcandy skullcrushers are the best headphones for the money, if you are a music lover like I am I promise you will not be disappointed, no matter what type of music you listen to these headphones will enhance your listening experience with crisp highs and deep brain rattling bass without all the outside noise. So just to sum it up if you are reading this review dont hesitate buy them here now for the lowest price on the net with fast shipping.
they worked great for the first 2-3weeks i had them but i blew one of the speakers out. witch pissed me off of corse but thank god for skull candy's life time warranty got me brand new ones in under 3weeks
Skull Candy...you never cease to amaze me. These headphones not only look cool but they sound amazing too. I listen to every genera of music and whether its metal rap or techno the bass makes me feel like I'm rocking out in a car with a killer system every time. a nice feature is the vibration control. this lets you find exactly what bass you want for that song. i recommend this product to anyone who wants quality headphones for everything from just listening to or shredding the hills.
Man, I love my Skullcrushers. The bass amp totally shakes your head when listening to music. the only downside is that those pointy things on the outside of the sets looks kinda ridiculous. Hope they work on the slopes too.
I've had a pair of these for two years now and they still haven't died. If you want a pair of great sounding phones with good looks and durability, look no further.
ok i'm no audiophile, but stuff just sounds GREAT outta these things with the bass boost on (it's adjustable). they definitely overcrank the bass on any song (rock, rap, classical, no genre is safe), but if you want some kickass tunes on the mountain or on the streets these are the first choice. the earcups are soft, the fit is nice and sound is isolated, and nobody can beat skullcandy style. be ready to kill a aaa every coupla months though, because with no bass boost tunes are just kinda flat
These are the best headphones that i have ever owned and the sound quality is super amazing. W Whenever i listen to music without these on i feel that something is missing.
The headphones look great to start with, but I will say the place were you place the battery is inline on the headphone wires and it is a little big. The sound quality is okay, and I was mistakenly comparing these to the Dr. Dre headphones bass before I ordered these. The vibrating is nice, and makes you think there's a subwoofer in there, but overall I get more audio quality out of my Shure headphones (way overpriced though). These are nicely priced, and funtion as told. If your HUGE on music and want to pony up for a beast get the Dr Dre headphones.
i had these headphones i really did love theme but they always broke in like the first two or three weeks to tell you the truth they were a complete waste of time and money>JUST LIKE ALL SKULL CANDIES (THEY SUCK)
