If you like being able to walk after a crash, then don't toss that gap hit or start down a DH course without the Six Six One Long-Sleeve Pressure Suit. This articulated armor protects your chest, elbows, forearms, shoulders, and even your spine if you case a tranny or pitch over the handlebars while ripping through the chunder. Six Six One used mesh construction to make the Pressure Suit breathable enough to prevent spontaneous combustion, and thumbholes keep the sleeves in place while you ride.
Never go to the the mountain without it. These are really pretty cheap as far as armor goes. They provide good, full coverage and are fairly breathable. The spine protector is removable, although I don't know why you would ever want to take it off. It would be nice if you could strap on the spine protector without the rest of the armor. This has a tendency to ride up a bit on my waist too.
Fits just as the sizing chart says. it has already saved me a few times, and it really makes me feel safe when i ride with it. the shoulder pads are a bit big, but i wont complain, as they protect them a lot... I would definatly buy it again if i needed to! very breathable as well.
This armour has saved my a-- so many times. I will never ride my mountain bike without it on. Be aware that it does have its limits. I did a 180 end over while clipped in and separated my right shoulder through the armor. I would hate to know the extent of the injury had it not been for the six six one suit. The upper bicep pads are a little cumbersome as they tend to make the shoulder pads ride back a bit but overall this equipment is a "must have" for middle-aged trail riders that refuse to succumb to smooth streets or the boredom of a stationary bike.
I own the short sleeve version, and i found the sizeing to be as you would expect. If you are normally a large then large should work for you here as well.Good luck, and go big!
