Lace are kept out of your drivetrain thanks to the removable hook-and-loop strap while the gum rubber outsole’s ready to grip onto your platforms when ripping trough nasty rock gardens. When it’s time to saddle up at a Super D, or 4x event install some cleats and clip in for race winning performance.

If I pop the cut section of the sole out and install the clips,

If I pop the cut section of the sole out and install the clips, can I remove them whenever I want and put the sole back in place? Or is it a clippless shoe permanently once used as such?

They are a great shoe for the price. Fairly stiff sole. Comfortable. Placement of spd is in good spot. However, they can be improved. First off they are pretty heavy shoes. You notice the weight more on longer rides. Secondly, the strap is great but I wished they integrated the strap to work with the shoe laces. There is some conflict with the laces and strap. Overall, they are bulletproof and held up to everything I threw at them for a season.
