Sherpa Adventure Gear Mani Rimdo Jacket - Women's - 2010

Sherpa Adventure Gear Mani Rimdo Jacket - Women's - 2010 BCS

Item # SRP0151

Cool, blustery shoulder-season weather calls for the Sherpa Adventure Gear Women's Mani Rimdo Jacket. Named after the annual Mani Rimdo Festival that takes place at the Thyangboche monastery in Nepal, this windproof, water-resistant, stretchy, and breathable shell is reinforced with just enough insulation to keep you cozy when the temps plunge unexpectedly.

  • PrimaLoft One insulation in sewn-in liner provides lightweight, low-bulk warmth
  • Underarm zips let you vent excess heat easily
  • Collar is lined with Yeti fur to protect tender chin skin and provide cozy warmth
  • Articulated, zip-off hood fits over helmets

Bottom Line:

So much more than just a shell.

Excellent choice, and not made in China for once.

I bought this jacket in a small for my wife to wear snowboarding, winter hiking, and casually around town. She loves it, and it's a perfect fit. The PrimaLoft is very warm, and yet very thin and light weight. She actually has been getting too warm on the mountain, which never happened in her old Gortex shell. The description didn't say it, but this jacket is SEAM SEALED and WATERPROOF. Keeping it clean and washing it in a Nikwax type product should yield years of dryness and warmth on the slopes. The quality is topnotch, and the features are first rate. It's made in Nepal, which I hope is a positive thing. For my part, I'm glad it's not made in China.

This jacket is really nice. It's warm, very compact, and it looks really good on. (Better than in the stock photos.)

The "yeti fur" is pretty thin, but it's nice on your face. Also, the material isn't a true "soft shell". It's basically your typical winter coat material. It is however, very comfy and soft, and pliable. I enjoy wearing it.

Sizes run a little big. 5'4" 125 I got a small and it's a little big, but an xs would have been too small. I got this when it was on sale for $70. I would not pay $140 for it. It's a great coat but I don't like to pay full price. Wait until it goes on sale again.
