Scarpa Veloce Climbing Shoe -2009

Item # SCR0102

Most folks who are just getting into climbing would rather not lose all their toenails after wearing their sticky-soled spidey shoes for the first time. Scarpa designed the Veloce Climbing Shoe to keep your second set of digits happy before, during, and after a long day of making friends with your new pet rock.

  • Rounded toe box and padded tongue take the agony out of wearing climbing shoes
  • Texon midsoles add rigidity to the soles for increased support
  • Vibram XS grip provides 30% more friction than most other climbing sole compounds

Bottom Line:

Get into climbing without needing to buy new feet.

I have a real wide foot and usually wear a 9.5 street shoe. I have some Scarpa trail runners that are 42.5 and fit perfectly. How does that translate to a climbing shoe like this one, should I size down to a 42 or 41.5? Or stick with a 42.5?

This is the perfect shoe for me. For how comfortable they are, they are really high performance. I have a slightly wider foot, and they fit great. Rubber seems really durable so far.

The fit will be almost identical, but the fell and performance with differ a little. The Force is lined and Veloce (will stretch more) is not. The midsole is also thicker on the Veloce (stiffer overall). Hope this helps. Cheers!
