Gear Review
good but not sublime...

I'm a freestyle boarder that's been riding 14 years. After reading all the glowing reviews around here and how these are the boots Jesus would have worn if he snowboarded, I say BULLSHIT! Overall the boots aren't bad, but they're not great either, I paid $99 and feel that I barely got my money's worth. After upgrading from some lower end Lamar boots I expected much better, but they're only sligthly better. They do run true to shoe size, best to go about 1/2 size smaller since most of us like our shoes roomy. I was disappointed to learn they're made in China, as lots of Burton (sellout) crap is these days. They look nice enough and the colors pop, have nice lacing for both the liner (quick pull), and the outer boot, but a HUGE design flaw is that they have these patches of very rough material at the top of the cuff on either side of the liner (think brillo pad) that will literally eat your ankle unless you're wearing real thick socks... but then the rest of the boot won't be a good fit. Send your Chinese designers back to the drawing board on this one Jake Burton! ...and quit shipping of American jobs to China jackass... u make enough goddam money. On a side note, I got a libtech skate banana and it is the sickest board ever and made in USA!!!
