Yes, they are narrow, and yes, they are Sandals

OK, everyone has noted that these are narrow. I have narrow feet and that's fine. If you have wide feet, beware.
Just tested these on a 28 mile ride into work...setup is a road bike with SPD pedals...
Having these on the narrow side is a benefit when clipping out of pedals as long as your feet fit. If the sandals were too wide, your feet would slide around before unclipping -- not good. In addition, you have to set your expectations and remember these are sandals. You will not have the snug and positive connection between your feet and pedals that come with real shoes. It can be a bit unnerving until you get used to it.
These are also quite heavy -- not sure where all the weight goes...
Also, the cleats are barely recessed enough to not hit the ground when walking around. No clearance for shims/wedges. This is important since you cannot put shims under the insole as you can with regular shoes.
Overall, since I have narrow feet, these sandals fit and are good for short, casual rides.
