Warm but SMALL

By climbaholic February 2, 2011

I bought the L/XL, and the first time I put them on my size 47 shoes I broke a zipper. Backcountry sent me another pair and paid for return shipping, and now that I am MUCH more careful (i.e. takes me 5 minutes to put them on) I haven't had any troubles. They do keep my toes much warmer than without them, but I think in the future I will go for something wind/waterproof. The construction feels pretty good (minus the zipper), and I have liked other Descente products I have owned (tri-suit, gloves), and they are made in Canada, so at least there's that. If you have size 44 or 45, they would probably work much better. It's got to be hard to make something that is supposed to fit tightly for such a wide range of shoes.
