Technica wasp arrived one day and the next I was hiking down Bright Angel Trail to the bottom of the Grand Canyon .... and back the next day. Even though there was no break-in period I had no problems. Boot was relatively light, sizing was accurate, good construction and EXCELLENT tread/traction on rock, mud, sand.... For the most part I forgot I was wearing them. Upper ankle support was moderate, not too stiff, which was what I was worried about since I usually don't wear mid-cut boots. Overall, an excellent boot at a great price. Only odd thing was that the boots had a smell like barn hay when they arrived that transferred to my 1st pair of socks....though it dissipated within a couple days use.
