Swobo – Great construction, so-so for performance.

I've been an active cyclist since wool was all they had for jerseys, 30+ years. Modern merino jerseys are great, and this Swobo version meets the standard in terms of fit, finishing and quality of construction. The material is not the best for performance, however. The wool chosen for this jersey, and/or the weave, makes it less wicking than just about any other wool jersey I have ever owned, and that's dozens of them. Whether you use it with or without a base layer, if you are a sweaty pig you will soak the jersey before it can wick and evaporate. Not as bad as cotton, but almost. Again, in terms of fit and finish, it's great. As far as usefulness as a performance garment, it's not well-suited for the job, particularly in higher temperatures and humid conditions.
