Solid, Lightweight Shoe

I typically buy my shoes two pairs at a time -- but I just picked up one pair on S&C to try them out. After a month with the shoes, I've ordered my second pair. For $70 on S&C, they are a great deal.

I can't speak to their durability because I haven't logged enough miles yet, but my shoes tend to wear out quickly anyway (6' and 200lbs). For the past 18 months, I had been running on Salomon XT Wings for their added support and flexibility to run off road. The Kalani's are obviously a lot lighter and not intended for that dual purpose -- but they feel good. One warning, the first time I wore them, I did get blisters on the inside my foot, just above my heals. Granted, 7 miles is probably a bit much for a first trial run -- and my feet were probably a little beat up from a 5-mile run earlier in the same day. Also, it's a bit of an adjustment getting used to the fabric. I will also knock one star off for having laces (from what I've read, past versions did not). Laces serve no purpose on these shoes and only slow you down in duathlons (or triathlons).
