Phantastic

I haven't gotten a chance to use my Phenoms (Ignitor lens) on the slopes per say, but have been wearing them around in general winter activities. In everything from snowmobiling to snowshoeing these Smiths worked very well.

The Ignitor lens worked very well for bright days when the reflection off the snow would have been too much without eye protection. I’ve also taken them out in dusk conditions with moderate visibility. Obviously if you’re riding at night you shouldn’t settle for anything other than clear. The cushion around the face is excellent, and I love the snap-in strap for easy detachment from my helmet. I have an averaged sized face and have no problem with fit or field of vision. I haven’t gotten into a lot of physical workout with them on, but they have managed to not fog up on me yet.

My only gripes are mostly minor: first off, I was slightly disappointed in the grip adhered to the strap. I’ve owned (and lost! So sad…) a pair of Smith Biking Fuel goggles from a couple years ago and the grip was a number of waving lines along the strap (they also had the photo-sensitive clear lens which I loved); on the Phenoms it is a single strip of grip with significantly less coverage than my previous pair. This hasn’t been a problem yet because I haven’t done much in the way of bouncing around. The ventilation on the top of the frame works well. Too well. Riding my snowmobile I found my eyes getting cold in the freezing wind. However, closing the vent seemed to help a bit.

Overall, great buy and would CERTAINLY recommend purchasing at this price!
