My Very Own Icelandic Style Jacket
By cra4156893 January 16, 2012
I saw this jacket at DOG and thought that a jacket made for Icelandic
conditions might also work in the Pacific NW. So I ordered a blood-red
Vatnajokull in XL. Upon arrival, two factors became clear. The first is
that the jacket is made in China, and not in Viking - occupied Iceland.
The other was that I could not squeeze my 5' 11", 215 lb body into the
XL jacket. I had no choice but to return it. By comparison, I swim inside
a Patagonia XL jacket of any type. This experience was disappointing, as
the jacket appeared to be what I was looking for - super lightweight,
highly compressible, and warm. Oh, alas, if only I could have put it on.
