Great Value , Seam Sealer is needed

By enoeno452375924 October 14, 2010

I purchased the 2p version of this tent and even though I loved most every aspect of it I ended up returning it.

There is a ton of value packed into their products. I like the overall quality construction, rainfly clipped in for easy on/off, light weight for the price.

I do not like that they used their seam tape directly over the velco that is used to connect the rainfly to the tent poles. The water just gets on the outside stitching then absorbs into the velcro then drips directly on top of you. I contacted the company a few times and explained the issue with this design and even though they seemed concerned they just stated that have not heard of any other complaints and recommended seam sealant. I wish they would have made the fly without the velcro attachments. I now look for tents that have 100% waterproofing in those areas or like my latest Big Agnes Fairview doesn't even come with them which works fine for me.

Great tent but needs attention on the rainfly. Should be a cheap fix though, just pick up some seam sealer and test it out before you go on a 3 day coast trip.
