Gear Review
Good fork except for one serious flaw
By asa3660308 November 14, 2010
Out of the box, my brand new Thor simply didn't respond to rebound adjustment and it had a very harsh top-out knock. So I sent it back and got a new one. Took it for a first ride, was very impressed. My admiration for my new fork lasted until the next day, when I discovered that my fork had the same harsh top-out knock as before. So, I contacted Magura. I basically asked them to fix it under warranty, but instead they told me to just return it again. So I got my money back and decided to go with a rockshox revelation. Apparently a lot of Thors have the same issue. In my opinion, a widespread issue like that on a fork of that caliber is not acceptable. Also, Magura customer service was very poor. They didn't want to take responsibility for the fact that their product has some serious defects. The bottom line is, unless you want to deal with the hassle of a fork with a serious achilles heel and poor customer support, spend your money elsewhere.
