Skullcandy Lowrider Headphones - 2011
Good Quality Sound, Low Quality Plastic

When I first bought these headphones two years ago, I honestly bought them for the nice look. I didn't expect them to sound as well as they do. While the sound isn't as rich and deep as more expensive Skullcandy Tis or Skullcrushers, it is comparative to my Altec Lansing speaker system with subwoofer and the quality of the drums and distortion guitar for example is excellent in my opinion. However, the largest point I can make it that the plastic used to attach the headband to the sides is thin and brittle. Within the two years I have had them and used them gently, both sides broke (in the section that extends to make them larger) and the top piece has cracked. As much as I have tried, tape and super glue are useless to fix them. While they come with a warranty (probably because Skullcandy realized this design breaks easily) you will need to take extra care to carefully slip them on your head, stretching them as little as possible. This is the only flaw I've experienced. If I had known ahead of time, I would have invested in a more expensive pair.
As for the design; at first I found the fit to be uncomfortable until the fabric softened with a few wears, but even with age wearing them for four hours or so is a little painful on the ears. The collapsible feature is very useful to tuck them away for travel (but I would suggest you invest in a pouch or case to prevent scratches). While there is no in-line volume control or way to adjust the sound/bass, they feature a very long cord and a durable thin plug. I haven't had any problems with the plug bending or with either side failing to play.
