Good Little Jacket, but don't stand too close to open flame
By smi3819742 July 20, 2012
Sizing is a little small was my first impression, agree that the material is the appropriate weight for the application, used up in the Portland area and on the Oregon coast for a week - kept my 12 yr old son very dry & comfortable. Wicked rain no problem, good hood.
Couple improvements I could see or things to consider before I'd purchase again:
- Hand Pockets on the outside of the jacket do not have a zipper, which would be more ideal for a Rain Jacket meant to keep you (and your stuff in pockets) dry.
- Jacket is a bit on the short side length wise, fit is good around the torso for a thinner kid, but could be a bit longer for coverage.
** Also, first actual camping outing we did this past week my son was standing too close our campstove(as 12 yr old boys will do) and the fabric on the front totally melted! Affected size was about the size of a fist which was inside his pockets at the time. It didn't create a hold in the fabric but it's noticeably melted and crinkled now at that spot.
He likes the jacket and wore it around camp and during the day when it wasn't raining, looks good on, if not melted seems like it would be quite durable.
