Fantastic but flimsy

I've had three pairs of these things and both the fit and the sound quality are wonderful. Unfortunately, the wiring tends to be problematic: I lost sound in one ear on the first pair with no apparent damage to the wiring, had a fray where the wiring exits the plug that no amount of electrical tape could keep from degenerating further. I'm currently on the third pair but I don't suspect they'll last much more than the 3-4 months that the others did.
