Gear Review
Extremely Light
By bon5570893 June 4, 2012
I was hesitant to start using trekking poles because I didn't want another thing to pack and I could always find or make a walking stick, but I was able to get a steal of a deal on here and take them on my last AT section hike. I am so glad I did. They saved my balance and my ankles many times on some rockier descents, and they saved my back and knees on the ascents. These are so light I hardly noticed when I had them strapped to my pack. The handles and straps feel like they were molded to fit just my hands. I was worried about the ease of adjustment with the twist lock, but they were easy to adjust during a quick water break at a gap or summit. I don't recommend trying while walking.
