Definitely worth the 50 bucks... but not much more

They feel great, look sharp and have an adequate chamois. The problem is the white stripe across the back. It makes your butt crack easily visible to anyone behind you. I guess that's one way to keep the chase from catching you...
I'll be wearing these on solo rides OR with compression shorts underneath... but never in a group ride without something under them. It would be very embarrassing.
The fit - I usually wear mediums (5'9.5'', 155 lbs, 30'' waist, 30'' inseam) but went for the small. The waist felt good, the shorts were just a little high up on my leg. The underwear area pushes your man-stuff up against black - you'll have to position it so that the outline isn't visible. Unless you're into that sorta thing.
Overall, they feel good. I did an interval workout on them and it never felt like I was riding on inadequate padding. The chamois may end up being a little thin... it'll probably be replaced in a year (or less). But for 50 bucks, it's a nice buy. The red is REALLY red - looks good on my red frame.
