Gear Review
Best boot I've ever owned!
By Johnny October 22, 2011
My right foot has a little bit more volume than my left foot so I have to purchase shoes/boots that have laces to the toe so I can loosen the laces to the toe for them to work. Broke my foot years ago and the cartilage added to a bit of width. Anywhoooo.....
5/10, Garmont, Scarpa have been my shoes of choice for the last 20 years. After wearing out my Garmont Tower Light GTX, I found these on B.C.com. Never trying or seeing Kayland before, I took a chance. I can honestly say that I will only purchase Kayland from now on.
They fit amazing. Solid heel grab with no slip but a roomy toes box. No break in at all. These have a slightly stiffer sole than your everyday hiking boot, but a generous amount of rocker thorough the boot, especially the front that allows for a very easy walking stride.
Tons of stability and totally waterproof. I was so impressed with Kayand's quality, I purchased the Kayland Legend Rev for those lighter everyday trail hikes and was equally as impressed.
Not as roomy of a toe box as these, but VERY comfortable and they are my everyday shoe.
I hope that they continue to make these Contact Rev boot because I will buy another pair when I wear these out. The soles have deep lugs and are great for mud or snow, and they add great traction when my girlfriend and I are horizontal!
Love em!
