How thick are these? Something like a running tight, or are they thicker and more insulated than that?

They are about same weight as Patagonia capilene 3, I'd say. What makes these unique is the knee patch - notice they are different color on these? That's b/c they put up an extra layer of thin fleece at the knee area, which makes the knees toasty. I use them to run in cold weather.
