Can this shirt be used for hard training rides, longer distance (100 mi) rides, and crits? Or is it mainly for commuters?

Last summer I toured out west for a month with two jerseys - a synthetic Sugoi and one of these. This definitely got more wear-time. You want to be careful around abrasive surfaces (I did wear a 2 qt. camelback the whole time and that didn't make it any worse for the wear, but stay away from rubbing on concrete and trees), but it's comfy and handles the heat great (2 days in 110+ degrees near Moab? Not a problem. Well, at least not any worse than any other jersey). Merino has the best odor-resistance of any material I've tried by a long long long (yes, 3 of them) shot. Just don't let it dry out in the hot sun after washing it... (let that happen at the end of the summer and now it's too small ): so I had to pass it off to my mom. Definitely buying a replacement).

It can totally be used for long distance and hard rides. Merino wicks moisture very nicely, and holds up well. Might get a little hot some days, but not on any other day.
