Picked up one of these prior to vacation at the Outer Banks (Corolla) this year (Aug 2006) to use in place of our umbrella that broke from the wind gusts last year. Needed a shady place for our 9 month old to play on the beach. Setup & takedown were a snap. It is best to use 2 people as the poles will snag occasionally on the mesh sleeves. Found it easiest to leave on the ground while inserting the poles and have the 2nd person lift the opposing side off the ground a little when inserting the poles into their grommets. The Sunshade held up surprisingly well to the wind gusts on the beach. I double staked the 3 corners and sand bag weighted them for extra strength. Sand bags can be made fairly inexpensively from nylon & draw cords if you can sew. I didn't bother with extra guy wires until the wind really kicked up one day. Then used one of the middle ones to keep the winded side from collapsing. Although the wind would occasionally flex one of the poles inward, it always bounced back after it passed. Shade amount was very adequate for 2 adults, beach cart, baby, and golden retriever. The height adjustability is a nice feature. You can easily stand in the main area, but will have to duck to enter/exit. Be sure to have plenty of room when setting up and inserting the poles. They are quite long and will hit things or people. Plan to use the sunshade camping and for other outdoor events. Had originally planned to get the smaller one until the sale that dropped the price of the large one = small one. Several umbrella users inquired when I had purchased the sunshade. I'm quite pleased with the purchase!
