Still quite terrible. It's an irony. The idea of these gloves is good. I like the fit and protection. But i still sew up a hole from poor stitching after almost every ride. I have a pair of 661 Comps as well and i rotate between the two gloves. The 661s are way better execution but don't provide the same level of protection.

Well, i guess since JC was a carpenter He would probably want some gloves that could take a beating....which means He would stay as far away from these gloves as possible.
I purchased these on chainlove, and, even though they were super cheap, i still wish i had not bought them. I've used them a grand total of 4 times -- 2 bike rides, 2 sessions of trail work. In those 4 uses, no less than 4 holes have developed due to some pretty pathetic stitching in the fingers. These are not bog wear holes, they are just places where the stitching has completely failed. I also don't buy my gloves super tight, so it's not an issue of my blowing out fingers due to stress.
The worst part is, it's not even worth it for me to return them, because shipping would eat up too much money, and i fear i'd get another bunk pair. I'll go back to dakine or 661 for my next pair of glove. I'll prob. try to sew these back together.

These things are great. My buddy and i both bought a pair and we used them in the adirondacks this past weekend. The temperatures were in the teens (F). We both wore them overnight in our bags. They are breathable and allowed us to wear our slightly damp from perspiration socks (which dried overnight) and still kept our feet warm.

I wore them around the campsite in the morning in the snow and they didn't get wet. I also wore them outside the tent when we had to move it in the middle of the night. We were right under a dead birch and we got paranoid that heavy winds would cause it to fall on us.

They might fit a bit small. I followed the sizing chart (i wear size 9.5-10) and feel my toes push a bit on the front. The sole seems pretty durable (sorta like cordura) and they pack down real small. For twenty bucks it's a great purchase. I'll use them whenever i camp.

4 stars. I can't give them 5 because i don't have any lifetime info yet.

Mountain Hardwear Terra Jacket - Men's

December 13, 2008

I am trying to choose between this and the MH Xenon for an all season shell. I'd use it for bike commuting, hiking and maybe mountain biking. What is the durability like compared to a paclite jackets like the Arc'teryx Alpha SL? Also, i usually wear an M in t-shirts, but i wear an L in the MH monkey man jacket. Would i want an L in the Terra jacket as well? What about the Xenon?
