Very cool jacket

Dale of Norway Totten Jacket - Men's

Dale of Norway Totten Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 March 24, 2009

This jacket is very cool looking and very unique. I bought it as a replacement for my well-worn windstopper soft shell. The jacket is much softer than I expected so next season I'll also try it as a mid-layer without the hood under my Arc'Teryx shell on cold days. The construction quality is excellent with my only complaint being no pit zips. With put zips I would have given it 5 stars.

Overall I'm very satisfied with it at the price I paid. Not sure I would have gone for the full retail price as there are a lot of really versatile products in the $400+ range. That being said, none of them look quite like this one!

Great wicking, stayed dry all day

Oakley In Control Boxer - Men's

Oakley In Control Boxer - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 January 29, 2009

These are the first non-cotton underwear I've tried for skiing. I'll never go back to cotton briefs! There was a noticeable difference after going at it all day and not feeling wet in the tight spots. with these and my Icebreaker long underwear I stayed dry, warm and itch free from daybreak to nightfall. As mentioned by another reviewer, there is no stretch to these so be sure to order the right size. I have a 32 waist and the medium fit great.

The strap that should have come with the watch

Suunto T-series Strap

Suunto T-series Strap

Rating for this product: 4 January 28, 2009

Bought a Suunto Coach T4 HRM watch and hated the black/white nylon strap that came with it. This strap was much sturdier and easier to get on and off. Great replacement for the original but Suunto should have probably included it with the watch!

Nicely made glove

Hestra Army Leather Freeride Glove

Hestra Army Leather Freeride Glove

Rating for this product: 4 January 28, 2009

This is a very well made glove. The leather is supply but durable and the lining is soft and easy to get your hand in and out of. I also like the heavy duty clasp for keeping the gloves together or hanging from your other gear. Performance wise the gloves fit me a bit tightly so on cold days my fingers got cold. My hand measures 8" from wrist to tip of fingers and I ordered a size 10. My fingers are also fat and really could have used an 11.

Very versitle, well made glove

Marmot Ultimate Guide Glove

Marmot Ultimate Guide Glove

Rating for this product: 5 January 26, 2009

Not sure why these gloves are getting ripped. Just came back from Steamboat and loved them. No issues with construction of any kind. Liners are very durable and easier to get hands out of without removing them from the glove like others I've tried. It was in the teens in the AM and with the liners I stayed toasty warm. Mid-afternoon the it hit 32 degrees and I skied without the liners for perfect temp. Overall a very versatile glove. Probably the only thing I think should be improved is the clasp for holding the gloves together or on a jacket loop. The snap is pretty small and doesn't look that durable. Hestra does a much better job in this department. That being said, I used the wrist loops instead and rely on the clasp only for storage. I've got pretty big hands (8" wrist to fingertips) and bought XLs. They fit snug width-wise with the liners, fine in length with a little extra at the tips.

Most comfortable long underwear ever!

Icebreaker BodyFit 200 Legless Pant - Men's

Icebreaker BodyFit 200 Legless Pant - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 January 26, 2009

These long underwear are fantastic! Absolutely no itch and with the boot-top, I had zero chaffing around my shins/ankles because of sock/underwear overlap inside my ski boot. I am also really impressed with how thin these are and how warm they keep you. This is the first Icebreaker gear I've purchased but it absolutely won't be my last.

Mountain Hardwear Vertical Jacket - Men's

January 24, 2009

Really torn between this jacket and the Arc'teryx Sidewinder. Like the Vertical because it has a removable hood and for days on the main mountain runs when it's not snowing, I don't know if I really feel like having a hood tag along. This jacket also looks like it has more pockets... true or not? Lastly, which jacket feels more like softshell fabric versus a noisy , crinkly shell?

Comfortable, stable, breathable!

Vasque Breeze Low XCR Hiking Shoe - Men's

Vasque Breeze Low XCR Hiking Shoe - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 February 25, 2008

My last pair of shows were Keens and although they were very comfortable, my feet got hot and the lateral support was so so. With the huge discount this site was offering on these I bought a pair. This is the first pair of Vasque shoes I've owned and... now they will definitely not be the last! Just as comfortable as my keens but with the stability and cooler breathing characteristics I was after. Fantastic!

I agree with the prior reviewers to go a bit bigger. I wear either a 10 or 10.5 depending on width. I went with an 11 and they fit perfect.

Phenomenal fit and awesome lens

Dragon Mace Goggle

Dragon Mace Goggle

Rating for this product: 5 February 25, 2008

First let me start by saying I thought I found the perfect goggle with the Oakley Wisdom but when I got them from this site the fit was all wrong for my head (pinched my nose and my temples - I wear an XL helmet) so I reluctantly returned them. Concerned that I would go through this over and over, I ordered: Oakley Crowbar. Electric EG2, Anon Realm and the Dragon Mace to see what would work best. Hands down the best fitting goggle was the Dragon Mace. The frame is more flexible than the Oakley's and the unique hinge design allowed it to fit perfectly on my helmet with no pressure points on my face at all. All the materials seem top notch and the visual quality of the lens in phenomenal. Peripheral vision is awesome with only the Electric EG2 offering more (too big with my helmet). The way the frame comes out around the lens should also keep most scratches off when they get dropped and rolled around in the lodge. And... they look really cool too! I highly recommend this goggle.
