i've mounted my Fritschi Freerides on Vollkl Mantras. I was excited to finally to get them on the hill because the pow has been elusive this year. i skied them 2 days in area on hard-pack w/ spring conditions and the toes and heels pre-released both days even after cranking the din to 9 . I'm sure they would be great in more forgiving conditions but not in area on these skis. I've decided to bring 2 pair to the mountain and save this setup for the soft days. i haven't had a chance to tour w/ this setup but I'm sure it will be great.It is really what this binding is made for.
I dont think the binding holds as well as a traditional alpine binding even on the same din setting.
