If you are interested in a recreational kayak for the surf and are on a budget, this may be the kayak for you. The boat is extremely light and its size allows it to be packed in full-size pickup bed with minimal "hangout" instead of having to be racked. Size and weight also allow children to paddle with ease. Review only applies to small paddlers as I am 5' 07" and 155lbs. With the flat bottom hull, primary stability is fair, secondary stability is non-existent. If you get off balance and it starts to tip, chances are there's no going back as it will flip in a flash. But re-entry is a breeze, even in deep water. Kayak will paddle into medium Texas surf (2'-4') just fine and has very little drag when waves are breaking in front of kayak. Main drawback on this kayak is its speed. It is extremely slow because of its length...but then again, it was not designed for speed. I would not choose this boat as an all-around kayak. However, for the price, it's hard to beat for a surf toy.
