Great Socks for Winter Activity

X-Socks Metal Ski Sock

Great Socks - They perform as advertised. My wife and I ski about 40 days a year and we have four days on these socks. We use them for colder weather, below freezing temps. They keep you toes nice and warm. A huge warning, the sizing chart on the backcountry website is way off on the women’s side. My wife is a size 8 women’s, according to the chart I should have ordered a "3" which seemed odd since I am a men’s 12 and "4" according to the chart. Anyway it seemed weird so I ordered a "2" to be on the safe side and it was still too big for my wife. We ended up returning it for a size "1". The chart seems to be okay on the men’s side. I think the chart needs to be revised or updated, use the European conversions at the bottom of the size chart. Also the socks do run all the way close to your knees, it takes a while to get used to. Fantastic socks though.
