Super Stiff Super Comfort

Burton Driver X Snowboard Boot - Men's

Burton Driver X Snowboard Boot - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 March 27, 2006

Super stiff boot with a lot of support. These are the stiffest boots in Burton's '06 lineup, yet they are super comfortable. They are much warmer and more comfortable than my Salomon F20s. The SpeedZone lace system is great and allows for true zonal control. I have very long narrow feet. Most boots I can get heel lift on flat ground. These boots lock your heels down, even without J bars. Unless you ride really hard, I doubt you would need the RAF plastic insert.

Baggy Fit - Great Style

Burton Ronin Flight Pant - Men's

Burton Ronin Flight Pant - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 March 9, 2006

These pants are much baggier than the AK Vent pants. But once you are use to the fit, they are great. The liner is wonderful for the drive up and back. However, it is really warm above 30. The material does not breathe nearly as well as my AK 2L Gore-Tex, but so far has proven just as waterproof. The fabric also seems more durable than the AK 2L Gore-Tex.

So Cool, So Hard to Use

Burton Ronin Combo Under Gloves - Men's

Burton Ronin Combo Under Gloves - Men's

Rating for this product: 3 March 9, 2006

These gloves look so cool. The idea is great, but they are just a pain to use. The pipe glove is good for warm spring days. The outer glove is good for the usual winter weather. But when things get cold and you need both gloves, you will spend forever getting them on. The material does not breathe very well either, leaving moister inside the glove.

Best Glove Period

Burton AK Glove

Burton AK Glove

Rating for this product: 5 March 9, 2006

These gloves are well engineered and constructed. The glove is extremely warm, yet it wicks the moister away quickly. The shell is amazingly waterproof. The new 3 layer Gore-Tex with taped seems is really flexible, especially when you consider the thickness of this glove. This glove is clearly for those who want backcountry gear.

AK BELIEVER

Burton AK 2L Vent Pant - Men's

Burton AK 2L Vent Pant - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 March 9, 2006

It started with the AK Glove. Then the pants. Finally, AK 2L Jacket. These pants are worth every penny like all the products in Burton's AK line. They are extremely light weight, incredibly water resistant, and fit perfect. They are designed to be a shell pant, pick out two or three different layer weights to use these all season. I suggest the AK Expedition Fleece Pant for cold days.

Not Narrow Enough or Small Footprint

Salomon F20 Snowboard Boot

Salomon F20 Snowboard Boot

Rating for this product: 3 March 6, 2006

These boots are extremely comfortable, but they are still not narrow enough for my feet. I even got a half size smaller than what I normally wear and I still get tremendous heal lift. The minimized footprint is still not as good as Burton's low-profile boots. The lace system becomes a tangled mess real easy. I am considering something higher up like the Burton Driver X.
