As a newcomer to snowboarding I required boots that, while obviously capable of performing competently, were primarily cheap, easy, and reliable.
I've found these boots to be exactly that.
The outer shell of the boot is neither soft, nor stiff, allowing you to tighten your bindings as much as you see fit, while giving an all-round performance that is perfect for free-riding, and especially so for beginners.
The lace slider is also nice, allowing the inner to be adjusted with ease to meet your own requirements.
They have also kept my feet dry and warm.
I have found problems, specifically the lace slider. From the first time I have used it, the lace slider cord began to fray slightly. Although this has not yet shown itself to not be a problem (the fray is cosmetic so far), it leads me to question the likelihood of it degrading and eventually snapping after a few years of use.
I have also found there to be a certain difficulty in use the slider to bring the inner fully tight with the shin. This makes for some fiddling around, and ultimately a fit that is not quite as tight as I would like.
Nonetheless, these are somewhat minor problems, particularly in light of my likely giving these boots a three or four year run, at most, before graduating to better performance equipment.
All in all, I've been happy with my purchase, and I happily recommend these boots to anyone new to boarding, or on a budget.
As an aside, I ordered these boots from Japan (where it is effectively impossible to buy 31cm) and they were dispatched and delivered promptly. I add my recommendation of the site to that of the boots.
