SUPER flattering jacket, but what's with the non-adjustable hood?!

Lolë Street Rain Jacket - Women's

Lolë Street Rain Jacket - Women's

Rating for this product: 4 March 10, 2011

LOVE LOVE LOVE the way this looks on me. It's a great rain jacket, keeps me dry, and it's wonderfully lightweight. I wish it had pit zips, but I think that would probably look odd given the more formal styling of this jacket compared to say, a technical shell. What is driving me UP THE WALL, though, is that Lole failed to add bungees or anything to keep the hood from blowing off your head if you happen to encounter a breeze...which is pretty common in rainstorms...so I don't know what they were smoking. Sigh. I've worn it in the rain now, so it's too late to return it (and the fabric is so pretty that I'd have been very reluctant to return it anyway), so I think I am going to go out and buy some gromits and thin grey bungie cord and do a little surgery on the hood.

Coziest thing I own

EMU Lucky Bay Vest - Women's

EMU Lucky Bay Vest - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 March 4, 2011

LOVE this vest! I am 5'6" 130 pounds and I got a small. I am small-busted, so it is a little loose around the chest, but otherwise, the fit is perfect! It's 100% wool, too, and feels like it is extremely well made. I love that the hood is removable, and the fuzzy shearling-style wool on the inside is SO comfy to snuggle up in. The leather details really dress it up. I wore it to work this morning.

Icebreaker Lily Pant - Women's

Icebreaker Lily Pant - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 October 7, 2010

Wow, what an amazing pair of pants. Not only are they toasty warm (especially considering how thin they are), but the knit is so refined that I can wear these pants to work at the office as well as on a run. Amazing. I wish I could afford to buy 3 or 4 more pairs (and that they came in other colors) so that I wouldn't have to wear anything else. The waistband is super comfortable and stays exactly where you put it. I'm 5'6" and 128 pounds and the small felt like they were made just for me.

BEST BEANIE EVAH!

Discrete Varmo Pom Beanie

Discrete Varmo Pom Beanie

Rating for this product: 5 October 7, 2010

Cutest beanie EVER! It's great to find a feminine pom pom beanie that doesn't make you look like a little kid and comes in a muted color (I got the grey). I love that I can pile all my hair up into this beanie or leave it down, depending on the look I want. It's 100% acrylic and unlined, so I'm guessing it's not going to be super warm, but it should be perfect for the chilly Washington DC winter. LOVE IT!

Marmot Furlong Softshell Jacket - Women's

Marmot Furlong Softshell Jacket - Women's

Rating for this product: 2 November 25, 2009

This jacket looks great until you bend over. It is much much much too short (much to my disappointment!). I'm 5'6" and 120 pounds and I got the small, and I can tell that even if I'd gotten the medium (which would have been cut too large), it still would have been too short. Bummer, because I like the jacket overall. The only other downside is that the fur that backs the front zipper looks really weird if you wear the jacket open without zipping it up. A for effort, Marmot, but it's just too darned short.
